1776 was a really good movie. Anyone remember our founding fathers singing about who should write the Declaration of Independence?? They rerun it a lot on July 4th around here.

Anyone remember the old Blondie movies? Growing up, they were on Philly UHF 57 on Saturdays and Sundays. They were fun to watch.

People will never understand that it is a better romance when the movie leaves a little to the imagination!

I love the old musicals - I watch Sound of Music a few times a year - each time it's on tv and once or twice on dvd to see it uncut.

I really don't go to the movies at all anymore -they just aren't the same and stars have made things too personal with their political agenda to just go and watch them and see the character and not the actor.

From couriorpostonline.com : Corzine: Recession forces difficult budget choices BY MICHAEL SYMONS GANNETT STATE BUREAU • MARCH 10, 2009 Print this pageE-mail this articleShare TRENTON - Gov. Jon Corzine today proposed a $29.8 billion state budget for the upcoming fiscal year that raises an array of taxes, scales back property tax rebates, furloughs state workers in the face of a deep recession. "Make no mistake: Because of where the world is right now, we must move in directions we might not otherwise choose," Corzine said. The tax changes include a one-year income-tax increase on those earning more than $500,000, small increases in alcohol and cigarette taxes and eliminating the property tax deduction next year on state income taxes for everyone but seniors. Property tax rebates would be preserved at current levels for seniors and for households with incomes under $50,000 and would be trimmed by one-third for households with incomes between $50,000 and $75,000. Other rebates would be eliminated. The changes would save the state budget $500 million. Payroll taxes would be increased on businesses, despite deposits by the state and federal governments into the depleted unemployment fund. _____ So if you live in Jersey, you can no longer write off your property taxes, which are the 2nd highest in the nation. Businesses will gladly pay more unemployment taxes. S Corp owners and small business owners will face an increase state taxes. Oh, and that property tax rebate that he promised was permanent when he raised the sales tax to fund it - gone for most people. (how funny is that - raise sales taxes in order to give you back property taxes you paid - talk about smoke and mirrors). Who can afford to buy a house in this state if you make only $50,000???????

Hi GatorBob. You left out "I am signing this Bill with 9,000 earmarks because it is left over from the Bush Administration." I wonder how many people really believe that one? Bush had said he would veto it, so Pelosi and Reid waited to pass it.

But it should be "normal" for the rest of the kids to go to schools that aren't safe? That don't teach? By the way, Amy Carter went to public school. And its not that I want Barry's kids to go to public school. I just want him to explain to these children why they aren't worth it. There is enough pork in that bill to pull the funds from somewhere else. While his Secretary of Education did say he was against this money being taken away, Barry won't speak out about it.

The main reason I think they need to keep to talking about it is that Nickelodeon is allowing him to remain on the kids choice awards ballot, and Chris Brown is actively "campaigning" for the kids' votes. It is sick that a kids station would foster this.

This one just REALLY upsets me. There are so many entitlement programs that do nothing to help poorer people help themselves, and here you have a scholarship program THAT WORKS, that gives these children a chance to succeed and have a better life than their parents, which is (or was?) the American Dream, and it gets ripped out from under them. There was actually a debate today to put it back in, and it was voted down.
