This is not the first time beer festivals have been banned. Selangor have been banning beer festival just a couple of years ago.

Smokers tend to have some serious health related problems. When they happens, they go consume more resources in public hospitals funded by other law abiding tax payers. Meanwhile, many smokers are evading tax by buying smuggled cigarettes.

Non smoker also have rights but often being violated by smoker in public areas. They are often forced to inhale second hand smoke.

Malaysian Chinese population is 24%. Chinese accounted for 43 per cent of voters in Johor Baru, and 38 per cent in both Tebrau and Pasiru Gudang. So these are Chinese majority seats alright.

The people voted DAP to govern the state well and that includes tackling illegal health damaging factories. If the people have to depend on UMNO to tackle this issue, then they may as well vote for UMNO to be the state government.
