Its certainly true we can negotiate strong trade deals slowly from within the EU or rapidly negotiate poor deals on our own. Thats the appeal for a certain type of politician. The time it takes for a bad deal to become apparent they have moved on.

Doesn't matter. Everyone who has traces of the virus should isolate and be paid to isolate. We can do what New Zealand has done we just needed to make the hard choices earlier. Had we done so the economy would be open and outbreaks quickly extinguished. Now we need to go back to square one.

Nail on head. Test and trace isn't working because people don't want to give out details of contacts, in part because we went to the stick not the carrot. Then there is the issue of people not isolating.

My daughter is at home because on child she sits near partied at half term rather than following the advice off the government. So my kid (and 1/2 dozen others) are paying a price for the irresponsibility of someone else (and their parents) and we have the wait to see if its brought coivd to our door. I know about 4/5 people who had the 'mild' version. Its not something you'll get over WFH with lemsip.

As Bernard points out people need to be compensated to stay at home and I mean everyone. For penny pinching tories its actually cheaper than furlough once its up and running and squashing covid.

My mum is getting forgetful, I find insulting that David considers people who become forgetful as 'senile. But I don't think he does, its just more mud to sling. If he's unfit, fine, medically it needs to be proven.

Theres a debate about an upper limit for office and a balance to be found between energy and experience but Davids insults are a bit pathetic really.

The count is continuing. Despite what you will read from some here in Florida and other states counting was still going on yesterday. Its just the too close to call logically take longer to call than states where there is a decisive winner.

Id love to see medical evidence that Biden is senile. You know actual medical evidence, not Internet gossip.

Biden winning doesn't suit Putin one bit. I started this campaign dissapointed in Biden, the more I see the more I am impressed with just some basic decency in office. Granted Trump lowered the bar until its touching the ground but he's an improvement and that's both sad and all we need.

Problem is he doesn't start to January and the US needs to get covid under control now. There are reassuring noises coming from parts of the Republican party so let's see what happens and if they can get behind the rumoured Biden/McConnell stimulus.

Great to see Kamala as VP my kids are particularly happy so see her there given it was a competition for two elderly white men. Having a female first and deputy first ministers here and them seeing female leaders across the western world is getting them really engaged in politics and maybe to become more involved.
