LOL My story is exactly the same. My dad went to the Portland VA as long as I can remember - at least 30 years (passed away last year at 81, was a korean war vet). I remember visiting him in the late 80s when he had a quintuple bypass, and many, many more times as an adult once he moved in with me. The place was like our second home for the longest time.
