Good questions. It was just made into law by the Iowa supreme court ruling that the Iowa constitution banning gay marriage was against peoples federal constitutional rights. The law goes into effect on Monday. The reasoning behind it is civil rights. Equal legal rights for everyone no matter their differences. As for who decides, that changes as our culture changes. But the final decision is left to the law makers. The federal goverment has bellied up and left it to each state to decide the issue for themselves. Same sex marriage may be legal on Monday but very well could be illegal next year. Eventually if opposers have their way it could be brought to the public for a vote. Then the decision would be left up to the majority. If the majority votes in opposition, it could very well go back to the supreme court. Hope this helps you somehow.

No I am suggesting stiffer laws. You murder someone and get out in 10 years. Alot of child abusers serve no time at all. Domestic abusers get one night in jail til they have offended enough times to irritate a judge. Sex offenders can get out in a few years and do it again but this time kill their vixctim. Glad this pleases you.

What I find disgusting is all the complaining about this issue. Where are the protesters and their disgusts when it comes to violent crimes? Guessing everyone is happy with the laws that apply to child abusers, domestic abusers, sex offenders and murderers. It seems there is less interests in the laws that should protect us then there is in the equal right amendments that should be for everyone without question.

OK bigrod you gave me a laugh. Why is it everyone forgets about our freedom to choose for ourselves? And that we are accountable for those choices. To say that something can influence us and make us do things that are against our nature is crap. People use that as an excuse to not stand up and take responsibility for their choices or own actions. This is where so many parents fail. Stop bailing the kids out every time they get in trouble and quit making excuses for them. Stop making excuses for yourself to your kids on why you can't be there for them as a parent. It's time to own up to our own actions.

Perhaps some cities should try child free zones. Zone off some property that is compliant with this law and set up apartments for these people to rent. It is a tough choice. It seems to be a no win battle.

Does not say homosexuality......it says, "Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the Kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicaters, nor idolaters, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind.

It was the songs and snowcones. I atended a Baptist church briefly as a kid and left because of their teachings about music leading the soul into a sinful life. Give me a break. Everyone has freedom of choice. If you are led into a life of immoral behavior or one without values, it is because you chose to follow.

I have ventured into these camps, usually with food. Some of the people who live on the streets say they are there because they want to be. Some are there just for a short while before moving on to another state. I have talked to many of them trying to figure out what has gone wrong. There are so many who have rejected the system. They believe that this is truly the only way to be free.

I never claimed to be without sin. I only said I would voice my concern or interfere if what someone is doing is hurting someone else. If it is a sin then I will answer for it not you. We all judge to some degree, if we didn't then there would be kaos . I for one don't want murders to run free. I guess we have to choose somewhere. I choose to only interfere with what hurts people. I don't see how what a gay couple does hurts anyone.
