The separation of Daine and Numair is another one of my favourite scenes to reread in the Immortals, along with Daine finding Numair in hawk form, Daine merging with the herd and Cloud's subsequent freakout, and the scene where Daine unleashes the animals on the 'pirates' in Wild Magic.

Maura's lovely and deserves so many hugs. For all of eternity.

It was sometime before August 2011 and I think and my sister were talking about Brony culture and I decided I wanted to see what all the hype was about and I got hooked. *Shrugs* My memory's kinda blurry, but I'm fairly certain that's roughly how it went.

The scene where George greets Alanna again has always been one of my favourite scenes from Wild Magic - even before I read SotL and knew who these people were. It just seemed so romantic and sweet and hilarious, because everyone's cheering. And after SotL, it was just something I could see George doing.

YAY! The kiddies are here! ...You have no idea how confused I was when I read SotL for the first time because Thom is Alanna's brother? I thought he was her son? It was - yeah. Confusing. But lil' Thom broke my heart so bad when the messenger came and Daine was trying so hard to comfort him and get his mind off of it and when Alanna came to say goodbye because she had to go fight ogres and... :( Poor lil' Thom. I remember when my dad had to fly off with his work, it was so much more often when I was younger and it sucked, so I just wanted to give lil' Thom a hug.

Due to the fact I'm not sure if this happened this chapter or not and better safe than sorry (And banned), I'm using rot13. And the scene with the bats! I always felt so bad for Daine when she walked into the room with all these bats hanging off her and everyone responds so poorly, until Kalasin speaks up and just - feels. I am drowning in feels.

And the whole 'Oh, shit' moment of the half moon around Pirate's Swoop. Just - ugh. *Growls* F'ing enemies.

Oh, and thanks for reading Wild Magic and Tamora Pierce's work in general. :) This is, very easily, the largest 'gathering' of Tamora Pierce fans I've ever seen and I, at least, have you to thank for bringing us together. And it's really sweet to see someone (A grown man, no less!) enjoying these works. :)

ARRAM! ARRAM! *Runs around shrieking because HE'S HERE!!!* He is, without a doubt, one of my favourite characters. Ever. And definitely one of my first fiction crushes. :3

I'm so happy you enjoyed Alanna's reintroduction. Seeing as I read Wild Magic before I read any of the SOTL books, I didn't know who she was the first time, but after I finally read SOTL, I would begin to freak out so happily at this point, so I'm happy you did, too. :D

I just reread this chapter yesterday and I love how the animals interact with Daine; Darkmoon didn't stop when told just so he could butt her with his head, Tahoi growled when Alanna's tone was too sharp, etc.

Random comment, but the line at the end of the chapter is one of my favourites of the book. 'She stamped off to look after the ponies, who at least would tell her things and not wait for any "laters".' I just love that line.

When I found out you were reading Wild Magic, I danced like a fool, I was so happy. :3 Wild Magic, and the following quartet, was my introduction to Tamora Pierce's writing. My sister was telling me about her writing when she saw an old, beat up copy at the book sale and so my mum bought it for me. I used to try to convince one of my friends to sit still while I regaled her with my favourite parts of the book (She was usually more interested in my toy collection then listening to me read out of some beat up book) and I would reread it constantly.

One of my favourite moments of this chapter was Daine and her bow. Aside from her knack with animals, Daine's archery really sets her apart. As we discover later, fur'f rira orggre guna Nynaan. Daine is why I was so interested in doing archery when I was littler.

I'm really excited you're doing this book - I promise it's worth the read. :)
