My son has finally returned home from Afghanistan and the war in Iraq has been won.. No matter what Obama thinks or says, we won the war in Iraq. I am disgusted that he made no cause for celebration in our country or declared that we had won this war in the name of democracy and freedom for the people of Iraq. He made no claim that the lives lost, both American and Iraqi was for this ultimate moment in time when Iraqis can now live in a free country. As my youngest son says on his MySpace page, "Obama wants to brow beat this country into submission but like the "red headed step child" I will not go lightly into that dark night!" So I say, and my family says, "Congratulations and Job Well Done Winning the Iraq War" ... and this goes out to our soldiers in Iraq and those who have served in Iraq! And also a heart felt "Thank You" to those families whose loved ones paid the ultimate sacrifice! May God Bless them all and keep them safe from harm!

I live in Florida and I can tell you the Charlie Crist is no friend to the republican party. He bends anyway the wind blows if it helps his political career and I do not believe this is a good move for the Republicans. But I do hear that Marco Rubio is a staunch republican (Cuban American) and is going to run against Crist "also" with heavy republican backing. So lets just hope the people speak and not the money!

I never knew it was derogatory until the tea parties! As a matter of fact, I had never heard the word "teabagger" until the tea parties. Now I hear it all over CNN, MSNBC and the local networks! I now know the disgusting "designed" definition of the word so why is it still used so commonly by the news outlets with little discretion?

I am saying again! My son was an Explorer Scout with the Long Beach, MS police dept! He rode with night shifts and worked traffic. He was also in the CA, National Guard at 17 and did survival training missions in the dessert in Calif. He has served his country for many years now and my biggest concern with this article is not that the boys are learning how to kill terrorist... but the fact that they use an Iraq vet as the enemy. It is the training method and not out of fear of some "brown shirt" organization that I am concerned. My mother was a den mother for the Boy Scouts and all 3 of my brothers went from Cub to Eagle Scouts. Again! It is the fact they are training in this specific article to kill vets!!! That to me is propaganda against our vets and teaching our youth to fear them. These are kids at an age where they need to belong and are easily manipulated in their beliefs. I raised 3 boys and one girl so I have been there and done that !!! Thanks for the ear everyone... Sunny

Well maybe your not concerned but just the fact they are going after veterans is justification enough for me that this is not something I would want my kids doing. My son who is in Afghanistan now also belonged to the police explorer program as well. But they never did anything like this! This is "way" over the top!! .. Sunny

We are supposed to come together here, but as usual we have those who will not be satisfied until they "trash" the site with name calling and rhetoric. We are supposed to discuss topics based on the 912 principles and try to "enlighten" those that may have some doubts. Those that are here to blather and judge rudely should be ignored, or reported! There is a little button that says ..report! We and even I at times get caught up in defending our beliefs so much that we tend to over compensate with the critical language. So the best way to deal with the situation is to ignore them and change the subject. Don't waste time or space on those that are here to take the site in another direction, on purpose. ie: trolls ... I believe the idea for this site was for us to come together... not about "control". Why do we have to have the sessions controlled when we are given the freedom to set the topics ourselves? Some of us could take it upon ourselves to participate, not just by posting but setting an agenda for a week or daily! We have the July 4th Tea Parties coming up, so ramp up the volume here! Send out news letters about topics to be discussed or are being discussed! It is up to us! I am blogging, emailing and researching information. I am a relatively new poster but a beginning member. I was brought back to this site by an email sent to me by a 912 member on one of my blogs! Advertise you are a 912 member on your sites! You will be amazed by the amount of conversation you get!

Maybe it is normal for a six year old but I get sort of queasy knowing it is a 17 year old!! Just more indoctrination of our children. I am not surprised when in my everyday dealings with the public, I will hear "have you watched Glenn,(or Beck) on Fox"? I also hear , "I did not know that until I watched it on the Glenn Beck show on Fox"! What this tells me is that there are more of "us" out there than I ever imagined and there is a sense of "I am not alone" in the anger and worry we have for the path our country is taking.. and yes, I feel perfectly OK with saying, "I love my God, My Country, and my Flag", without fear of reprisal!
