Guyism : Denver radio hosts not happy with pass interference call

It was a horrible call! Holmes (Jets WR) pushed the Broncos DB aside to get to the ball - so Hill hooked his facemask on the way past. The contact was illegal on the part of the WR in the first place - so if they really had to call a penalty, it should have been on the OFFENSE! To call the second bit of contact in that game deciding circumstance - horrible call.

Big Journalism : Media Matters' Malicious Accusations of anti-Semitism Directed at Glenn Beck

Hmm.... Media Matters is very careful in these headlines to state a lie in words that are technically true. The headline states that Beck revived a Soros-conspiracy which was anti-semitic. When the Malaysian Prime Minister was blaming Soros, he tied it in with an anti-Jewish accusation. So, when this theory first came out it was tied to anti-semitism. Beck did bring up the theory. So, by technically breaking down the words, Media Matters is correct. However, by putting them in that order, they make it sound like Beck is being antisemitic (even though, if you read it more carefully, the headline doesn't actually say that). It's a case where you use true words to tell a lie.

Big Government : John McCain, Purveyor of Mid-term Kryptonite

Palin - I'd never take her life if I could avoid it. But what she is doing - it is on terms with somebody like MLK Jr. Arousing hatred from one side, but sticking up for what is right. I don't think she'll be president - I don't think she'd be very effective there (more about the people who hate her than about her). But as the leader of a movement... she has something going that could very well save the country.

Guyism : 10 major health benefits of medical marijuana [Infographic]

If these are the highly touted medical benefits, they hardly make a dent against the obvious potential for abuse (since it is already abused so frequently). Seriously, the only reason it is a popular cause (legalizing marijuana) is because people want to use it for more than just "medicinal" purposes. I'm not opposed to that argument (though I'm not sold on legalization by any means), but lets at least be honest what it's all about, not just try to keep pointing to the medicinal use as the issue. In my state, medical marijuana was legalized. But dozens of improperly licenced stores popped up and started selling it beyond just to medical perscriptions. It has been a problem for our City Counsel all year - how to stop the abuse now that "Medicinal Use" is legalized. And it's not working out well at all.

And Obama said he'd been in all 56 states during his campaign. Politicians say stupid things because everything they say is recorded - eventually you can get a good soundbite that makes no sense at all. Besides, I think that "Palin fact" was made up - I know several of those "Palin said" things were invented by bloggers who were against her.

Big Peace : Voting Burqas and Burning Books

Burning a book is a far cry fro vandalizing a building. The book was (apparently) owned by those burning it. If it was "vandalism", the building would not belong to those destroying it. That, of course, is why vandalism is wrong - it is destroying somebody else's property.

Well, "Jew" is both a religious and an ethnic group. "Muslim" is not - and nobody thinks burning a copy of the Torah is incitement of racial hatred. Rather, firing of rockets into their towns would be actions of racial/religious hatred.

Big Peace : Balancing Liberty Against Fear: Burn a Koran

- The extremist, fringe, kooky "Christian" pastor is more sensitive than the "moderate" imam - he cancels his inflamitory event, the imam pushes forward with his (despite much better options being available, if he just wanted a mosque)

Big Peace : Balancing Liberty Against Fear: Burn a Koran

Now that Jones backed off of the Koran burning plan, this is a most effective piece of political and social satire. It brings up a number of very instructive points, such as: - Everybody recognizes that when a "Christian" koook is unloving, he's a fringe/extremist/kook. When the Muslims are trying to stir things up by building a mosque at Ground Zero, they are seen as the "moderates" - both of which are true, but that says a whole lot more about Christianity (generally kind and loving toward the other) and Islam (fairly violent and so obviously unloving toward the other) than most care to admit. - The Institutional & Professional Left (president, media, etc) are much more worried about Islamic violence than about the danger that they keep insisting will come from the "right wing extremists". The GZM would bring violence from any kooks that exist on the right wing if anything could, but an unimportant pastor in FL burning the Koran brings them out against it for the sake of "safety", while they "won't comment on the wisdom of building a mosque there". So who do you believe is dangerous, really?

Big Journalism : Must-Read of the Day: Dinesh D'Souza on 'How Obama Thinks'

Those are more the practical, political methods - D'Souza is going for what are the dreams, the motivation behind it all. And I think he's probably giving a better analysis than any of the comments here (no offense intended - but comment threads are hardly the place for thoughtful analysis).

Here we have an actual worldview that can counter Islam - not the weak, empty secularism of France. Muslims move to the USA - and they move away from their Islamic roots. Sure, Islam is growing here - but we aren't a religious vaccuum like Europe (yet).

I Agree! France's Islam problem is because of their own actual, honest to goodness oppression! No "public worship"? Sorry, that is an attempt to limit religion to only somebody's "private" life, and not what the Human Right of Freedom of Religion actually means. France doesn't get to "define" what it means because that is a basic, God-given human right, not a priveledge granted by the state. France, you are becoming an evil, oppressive country - much like the Islamic countries you are fighting against here.

OK, wait. This article says this: "This is all illegal in France: the public worship, the blocked streets, and the private security." AND IT'S NOT AN ARTICLE ON THE LACK OF FREEDOM IN FRANCE, BUT AGAINST THOSE WHO DISOBEY?!?! I don't like Islam at all - it is a dangerous, violent religion. But I am horrified that FRANCE is committing these violations of true Human Rights (not the made up UN version) - freedom of religion and freedom of expression are very important, nay, VITAL human rights. For a country to outlaw "public worship" is something that ought to draw strong condemnation from EVERY corner - especially us on the right, who actually CARE about liberty! France's enforced "Secularism" is a violation of basic human rights. Islamic countries act this way and we rightly condemn them - now when a "western" country acts this way, we ought to condemn it as well.

Hm, Islam is globalist as well - not nationalist at core. Interesting how that fits in... The Islamic view of "world peace" is a world unified under Islamic rule. That would be a global government, much like the vision of the internationalists...
