i have found a solution! Just install Push Fix through Cydia - works like a charm on iOS 4.0 ;) (in Cydia go to "More Package Sources" install the source "iphoneModding" install "Push Fix" and then reboot)

I made a custom firmware of 3.1.3 using pwnagetool 3.1.5 because i got stuck on apple logo (no reboot) Pwnagetool couldn't get it into DFU mode so i tried Blackra1n and Spirit to jailbreak from - no luck... suddently my 3gs vibrated and got back to normal after 3 min of showing the apple logo - that seemt weird so i updated to the custom firmware anyhow... BUT I FORGOT TO GO INTO DFU MODE - just did the alt-restore in itunes and installed my custom firmware...? What pusles me is i did not put it into DFU mode before i did the custom restore... is this okay? i am still at bootrom 04.28.XX???

Hi all! I jailbreaked with pwnage custom made OS 3.1.2 - then additional jailbreak with Geohots "make it rain" option (don't ask why) - and then unlocked through Cydia with GeoHots Blacksn0w. I have no issues so far... (no youtube-, sbsettings-, wi-fi issues) not even when shutting iPhone down?? I thought the unlock broke when shutting the iPhone down? Are there problems ahead for me that i haven't seen yet? ... i plan to sell it and need no angry buyer ;-) Thanks

... if it was only for me i probably would buy a factory unlocked. Now, i have a spare-time business selling software unlocked iPhones and this is my first "burned" or "software-faulty" one i have. I guess my lesson is never to buy foreign iPhones when new unlockable software is about ;-)

HEY! You actually have a point here. Thanks for pointing this out! Of course it should still be usable for AT&T customers in the USA i forgot! This one goes straight back to where it came from and it will be out of my hair! THANK YOU - Sometimes it helps to step a few feet back to get the big picture :-D But... how would they go around the correct zip and social security # if asked in iTunes? I will try to ask my seller.

I guess my seller was unaware that "unlockable" is not just something you throw out unless it is true. I fear i received a new one with OS 3.1 installed - this must be why redsn0w is giving me a hard time. This is my first "faulty" unlock as i have done this several times before for resale. FYI Buying an AT&T locked iPhone to unlock yourself would save you $300-500 in Denmark. I would rather sit on my butt buying off eBay's than travel to Belgium to buy a freakin' phone! But thanks for your comment anyway. ;-)

1) When buying a sealed iPhone you CANNOT tell what firmware is installed unless advertised. 2) When shipping cheap and sealed but AT&T-locked iPhone to Europe there is NO way to activate it outside the AT&T network... therefore... 3) Jailbreaking it is THE only way to activate and unlock a US iPhone in Europe. I am surprised you didn't know that? I just hope future jailbreaking methods still requires the iPhone to be in Restore mode ;-)
