Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone here who has been so welcoming and fantastic. You've given me advice for my first half marathon, helped convince me to seek help for my mental (and physical) health difficulties, gave me great advice for trips abroad, listened to my excitement and complaining about wedding planning, provided me with the laughs I needed when I needed them most, and helped educate me on subjects where I didn't even know how hopelessly uninformed I was.

This site has been something truly special, and I can't say thank you enough to everyone who made it so. You are all lovely.

Thank you. Truly.

Me on this site all day:

Even though I didn't contribute often, I will miss this place deeply. Thank you all for being the most entertaining, heartfelt, educational, and lovely commenting community I have ever seen.

I've not yet had the pleasure of meeting Debbie Dingell, but the main resounding point I've heard about her from my colleagues who have is that she does not fuck around, she does not hedge, at least one-on-one. If you ask her about an issue, you're going to hear her honest answer, whether or not its what you want to hear or what the party wants her to say.

Another that I love - from the Big Lebowski - "You see what happens, Larry?! You see what happens?! This is what happens when you find a stranger in the Alps!"

I did Ham & Fun Home back to back, too, just last month and it was amazing! I'd never seen a show in that format before, and spent quite a bit of time watching the reactions of audience members across from me. Definitely shed some tears during both shows.

I don't know if this has been shared elsewhere already, but NPR Music has an hour-long piece about #EduHam, featuring pieces written by school kids inspired by HAMILTON and it is crushing me beneath a mountain of feels. These kids are KILLING it with their raps and poems and songs and it's almost too much. I highly recommend you take a listen.

TOASTS

I can't post much because my battery is about to run out, but Gordie Howe (Mr. Hockey!) has passed away. I've been trying not to get super sad about all of the celebrity deaths this year, but I am very sad today.

RIP, you legend.

One of my favorite moments of all time was at the wedding of an acquaintance who got married the same week she defended her Ph.D. dissertation (which on its own is an incredible feat).

As they turned to walk up the aisle after the ceremony, the officiant announced, "It is my honor to present Dr. and Mr. [Bride's First and Last Name]!"
