However, it is very clear in the rest of his and other founding fathers statements, that they wanted religion to play a large role in both our government and our lives. I think part of the problem with congress is people giving their support blindly to someone because they're in "their" party. As much as we are unhappy with congress, ultimately it's OUR fault, as their bosses, that they are not doing their job right. We need to start looking at our own states representatives and see how they measure up to the 9 principles. If they don't meet those standards, FIRE THEM! In Utah, if wanted to go drive a truck for Kenecott mine, I would have the choice to join the Union and pay their fees and receive 22 dollars an hour plus good health/dental benefits or NOT join the Union and receive the same 22 dollars an hour and good health/dental benefits without paying the Union fees. This would seem like a no-brainer, however, should the employer decide to cut wages/benefits down to a level that I feel is unfair, I could then chose to join that Union and use collective bargaining to restore what I feel is fair. This creates a natural equilibrium of power between the large corporations and the large unions. Let's be realistic here, we all know that the Unions aren't going away any time soon. At least now, because of the mess in Detroit, more people are starting to realize that the Unions have too much power and are using it more to perpetuate their own agenda than to benefit their members (getting paid too much and putting you company out of business is not a benefit in the long run). Let's focus more on a national Right to Work law that puts more of the power in the hands of the worker.
