Once again, not one reporter asked or answered the following questions: 1. Did the killer have the gun leagally? 2. How many laws (already in effect) did the killer break in committing this crime? 3. Did the victims have the legal right to defend themselves in place that they were killed (ie. able to carry a weapon)? 4. Were the police, even after onsite, able to stop a single victim from being shot? Then there is my personal favorite, which is more difficult to quantify but more to the point. 1. How many people could have been saved if just one of the victims was armed? These atrocities have once again driven horribly ignorant (if well meaning) people to call for dissarming law abiding citizens to punish criminals.

I already lost half of my 401k, the remaining half will now be lost to dramatic inflation. I would actually have to quit my job to take it out to invest the remainder in gold (I checked). Quiting my job right now is not a good idea so I have to watch as the rest of it goes away. Can anyone point to a single thing that the government has done right since last september? on any topic? You are absolutely correct. Even if the court decided that they must protect us, in most cases they couldn't anyway, they simply just can't be there/everywhere at the same time. However, what is infuriating is hearing stories about women begging for protection against an abusive and dangerous exhusband or boyfriend, only to be turned away by the police. As they try to exercise thier 2nd Ammendment right and defend themselves, they are turned away for the Brady waiting period. There have been too many documented cases where the women was subsequently killed waiting to "cool down". The US Constitution, void where prohibited.

Once again ideaology trumps common sense. We don't need every pilot to be armed if everyone thinks they are likely armed. Allowing pilots the option keeps all of the planes safe. This is the same reason why 59% of the burglaries in Britain, which has tough gun control laws, are “hot burglaries” which are burglaries committed while the home is occupied by the owner/renter. By contrast, the U.S., where home owners may be armed, has a “hot burglary” rate of only 13% (REF.:Dr. Gary Kleck, Criminologist, Florida State University (1997) and Kopel (1992 and 1999)). Bad guys don't want to get shot. When law abiding citizens are armed we all benefit (there is plenty of evidence to support this and none to the contrary). Our president and his administration will keep chipping away at our 2nd ammendment rights in every way they can, and this is more evidence that it doesn't matter if there is no defensible reason. It is also evidence that, once again, his ideaology trumps our safety

No climate models can currently predict todays climate, even given all of the historic data leading up until now, yet we are told over and over that the models all show a catastrophy ahead. That's because scientists quickly learned that the envrionmentalists, the media and the politicians (left and right) will destroy them if they dissent. At minimum, you will quickly loose your job or funding, at worst you will be permantly branned a nut case flat earther. Also, no one actually claims that any of the measures currently proposed to stop global warming will have any measurable effect on global warming. Now, before I waste a few more trillion of my childrens dollars in lost industry and cold hard cash, I would like to have someone tell me that it will at least have some imaginary measurable effect on this fictitious problem. Fighting global warming will be recorded as the single biggest waste of money and effort in history. To think of the good that all of that effort and treasure could do...what a waste. And did anyone take a body count across the world after last years shortage on corn? Fuel from food, brilliant.

This is why you can't bail someone out. This type of thisng is supposed to sort itself out. Capitolism works if you let it. If we don't bail them out,they go under or file for bankruptsy,and renegotiate all of thier contracts. If they still give out bonuses for failure then they hasten their demise. Its the natural order of things. If they go under the economy takes a big hit, but comes out stronger in the end (that stronger in the end opportunity has come and gone) This is scary. We are destroying our corporate gene pool. The more we bail them out, the more they are going to behave in ways that don't make sense. I don't mind a person getting a $5 million dollar bonus if they earn $5 billion for thier firm. In fact I want to be that person and I support him/her. However, understand that these same people are getting the same bonus for getting $20 billion free from the taxpayer. It looks the same on the books, but it is a pervursion of the system that wiill eventually destroy it.

"If it meant that America would collapse economically as the rest of the world unpegged from the dollar, would you support staying out of a global economy?" 100%, I would much rather be poor and unstable, but in charge of our own future. You cannot put a price on that. ...or better yet, lets all agree that the value of money in this day and age is so manipulated and so dependent on factors that even our best economists can even define figure out, that no one can trust it anymore (the Chinese are nuts for lending to us; Obama has no intention of paying this debt). I believe it may be time to go back to a gold standard. The gold standard had its limitations but who today wouldn't like to know that there was gold behind that dollar in their pocket. Alas, the dollar has been so destroyed by the current and past administrations (mostly the current one) by printing what they want that we could never convert back,even if there was enough gold. Someone would notice the millions of tons that were missing.
