While I understand the outrage most of you feel regarding this awful accident that hurt an innocent child, I do not understand the overly cruel and judgmental remarks made towards John Pollard. Yes, he is a man who made some foolish mistakes; I would not even try to dispute that. But to say he deserves death and that he is a moron with a very low IQ is pretty cruel, especially when all you know of him is what you read in this tiny article. I happen to know John and have since Middle School. He is not stupid, and is a hard worker who would do anything for his friends or family. I can only hope that his two teenage daughters, parents, siblings, and close friends do not read all of these ugly things written, because I know how much it would hurt them. Please, don't get me wrong, I am in NO way condoning what he did, but keep in mind, not all of the story (much more than what the neighbor reported) has been told in this article, and absolutely no insight into John as a person has been given. If that were the case, I'm sure your judgments would be less harsh; at least I would only hope they would be... Remember--everyone makes mistakes. I know I have. I would think that unless one is blameless and free from having EVER committed a stupid judgment call on ANYthing, then they really shouldn't throw such hard stones at a person who is already feeling as low as one can possibly be over this tragedy...
