You need food and water. You need something to use as currency (NOT MONEY), some suggest old silver coins, gold and silver, things that people want and need that you may not need or want - like cigarettes, alcohol, etc..to barter with. You might need someway to protect what you have and to protect your family. Do a search for the Preparedness Manual by the Mormons -- it is very good.
