I didn't get the DM Register - the story in this instance points to fraud. Still my point is the responsible people making their payments and the bottom falls they lose their * investment *. The banks did not suffer the same fate. The government did not bail the consumer out. The banks that fraudulently scammed consumers in loans that were destined to fail were bailed out or had their loans serviced by different banks that foreclosed on the borrowers and took their homes. Finally if a bank fails and you have money/investments in it you are out (less the FDIC ins. amount) Homes do not fall into this protection. I have yet to find "bankruptcy insurance" if I lose my home. The system is broken and needs to be fixed.

Finally the consumer wins!!! When we had banks failing left and right the government bailed them out our mortgages were simply transferred. When a hard working family looses no one bails them out and they lose their home (often after making tens of thousands in payments)

As a taxpaying citizen I would like to review the cost benefit analyses for this request. What is the justification? If anyone has info related to this please let me know. Radio systems are not inexpensive and are proprietary so are we upgrading or changing to a whole new system?

If you read everything completely you would have read that he is retiring from the military soon. It is sad that we lose a great combat veteran, but the man deserves to follow any path he chooses. For all of the uneducated people out there I'm sure he has accrued leave and will also be on terminal leave. I would like to someday shake his hand and wish him the best in his future endeavors. We live less than 5 miles from his Hiawatha address. We are very proud of you!!! We lost our son in Iraq in 2005 and it is soldiers like you that make the real difference.

Look, the laws state that you cannot be found guilty of a crime when there is reasonable doubt. We let criminals go free everyday because of this very situation. Common sense says that if I am at home and a child drives my car and gets stopped for a moving violation the officer checks his driver’s license and issues him a ticket. The law was broken and a ticket was issued to the offender. If my car gets caught on a speed camera and I am once again sitting at home I get a ticket. There is absolutely no proof who was operating the vehicle. The ticket is issued because a law was broken and we are found guilty even though we can prove we were not driving. What happened to reasonable doubt? Catch the speeders and give them the tickets. Raise the fines and provide constant surveillance by live officers. Make the guilty ones pay the price!!!

This is a sad ...sad situation. Mom tapes eyes nose and mouth cuts the childs throat and then does the same to the childs brother. The son that lived has a very rough road ahead. Children have unconditional love that allows them to forgive the most heinous treatments.

Cedar Rapids, WI and Cedar Rapids, NE Well Michigan does have Jeff Daniels constantly on tv highlighting the economic advantages of conducting in the state. Maybe we could get Jim Carrey or Steve Buscemi to highlight the advantages of Gov. Culvers programs.
