Yes, and having been married 3 times, what could she possibly know about "a stable and enduring family unit"?

The Freethinker : Phillip Pullman’s new book raises concerns among Catholics ahead of its publication

The editorial stated: "In Pullman’s world, hope simply does not exist, because there is no salvation but only personal, individualistic capacity to control the situation and dominate events." This begs the question, "Salvation from what?" That which doesn't exist but the church has every riding on people believing it does? And by the way, "Hope" is a an expression of a desired outcome. To say there is no "hope" would be to claim no one will have a desired outcome. However, when it comes to religious "hope", that's just a lie that apparently far too many people feel the need to tell themselves just to make it through the day. It's not based in reality but fantasy.

Deep Thoughts : Potter nutballs

People are nuts. If they would just get their heads out of their superstitious ancient texts they would realize that magic isn't real. BTW I'm waiting for July 29th so I can see the new Harry Potter in IMAX 3-D! Can't wait, the cinematography looks beautiful.

Deep Thoughts : Parents kill their child through prayer

Sad and sickening. A moderate Christian once told me, "This is why God created doctors." To which I replied, "No, humans created doctors because too many people were dying from relying on a god to heal them through prayer." Christians refuse to see just how deadly faith can be.
