Reformation of a Messenger Boy : Music Reviews - "In Feast or Fallow" by Sandra McCracken

Thanks! It's a worthy "investment". Her unassuming style is refreshing and frankly, with all the posturing and weirdness in CCM, welcome!

Reformation of a Messenger Boy : Quote of the Week - Wade Burleson and Spiritualizing Life

No, I've never heard of that. ;-) Which, I think, goes back to what you said earlier. A leader with that perspective is not honoring God. Lying about it and putting it in spiritual God-speak just makes a bad situation all that much worse.

No, but if a man IS doing it for those reasons, then he should at least be honest about it and not hide under the guise of "doing God's will". The problem is that when you do everything according to "God's will" and you're dead sure that what you're doing is a call of God and is His will, then you have the ultimate trump card and basically nobody can stand in your way because you're doing God's work. Well, if you're a minister of the Gospel, shouldn't humility dictate that you check yourself and ask yourself if this is REALLY God's will or if its rather you just being selfish?

I don't think he's suggesting that at all. He's asking the question of what are our true motives. If a pastor simply wants to go to another church because of better oppurtunities, he should state his desire as such rather than couching it under the heading of "doing God's will". That kind of mis-representation is dishonoring to God and does a disservice to the Church.

Reformation of a Messenger Boy : Derek Webb, The Gospel, and Doing Good Works

Whether it does or not, I wish people would consider the wider context and not expect every artist to be the complete package. Webb is maybe the only musician singing what he does to the people he sings it to.
