Actually, it was Tarkin who ordered the destruction of Alderaan as a demonstration, not Vader.

I don't know what you're asking. Humour is subjective. I thought WWU had the right balance of jokes. If it didn't leave you with a lasting good impression, that's fine.

If you're trying to convince me that I only liked WWU because of the song, then I already admitted that the song contributed to my liking of it (and it's not fair to judge an episode by deliberately excising a key part of it; having a song isn't some kind of "cheating") and the rest was likable on its own.

The song definitely contributed, but the rest of the episode was solid. The gags came at the right frequency, the characters were all used well, and the main plot was interesting. There was nothing jarring or bad-weird. Just a good slice-of-life problem with a pleasing resolution.

I liked that episode.

The premiere never impressed me and I still think it's the weakest of all the two-parters and one of the weaker installments overall.

There are hints of the wit and relevantce to come, but taken on its own merits, it's a trudge through character introductions, then moves into the "quest" which somehow manages to both be a little weird and painfully checkboxy. I still go "WTF?" at Applejack's display of "honesty".

It wasn't until "Winter Wrap-Up" that the show had what I think of as a truly great episode.

There are hints of the wit and relevance that is to come, but taken on its own merits, it's a couple of episodes that spend time introducing the characters without actually giving us any kind of story, and then move on to the the awkward "quest" which manages to be both a little weird and also checkboxy at the same time. I still go "WTF?" at Applejack showing her "honesty".

I think "Winter Wrap-Up" was the first truly great episode and hooked me for years to come.

Ah man, Minuette isn't getting nearly the love she deserves. She's so happy and nice. Like Pinkie, but less in-your-face irritating. I mean, I don't wanna say she's a better Pinkie than Pinkie, but she's totally a better Pinkie than Pinkie.

Oh, well. With her attitude, she'd congratulate the winner and say it was super fun to be in the poll. She's sweet like that.

I never really got the corndog thing, why it was funny or why it caught on. Then again, I didn't like most of "Foaly Matripony", so, meh.

It looks like Fluttershy was transformed into Dash's couch.

Well, Sony's held a pretty solid position on my shit-list for years now, so it's business as usual. For however little it's worth, that company isn't going to see a cent from me, ever.

Gah. Time travel. And they're changing the past. They're going to make a paradox. This is not time travel done well. "It's About Time" had it right, but they were too tempted and now they're gonna mess it all up.

Excuse me while I go off and grumble about how the series is ruined now and I'm leaving the fandom.

Also why the heck is season 6 taking so long?
