While more comics creators are leftist than not, the readership is split down the same lines as the broader population. Like ANY medium, there are many different genres- from western to war to super-hero to history to fantasy. Like anything in movies, TV, video games, etc.- YOU must take responsibility for knowing what is and is not appropriate for your child. But yes, most comics today are aimed at adults because today's children don't read, they vegitate in front of screens which is a shame. That's not the fault of comics- that's the fault of public schools. Assuming something should be "for kids" because it combines art and story is a common assumption. However, it is a poor assumption. Almost ANYTHING from Frank Miller (my favorite writer/artist) is far more sophisticated than 99% of what you will see in modern film or television.
