I just saw a sign that said "Health Action Now" (with a small AARP logo at the bottom) at a nearby church.....I went in and asked about it, and it seems to be a public forum to push universal health care......At a church. I had my two children with me, and all I could say was, "If you do this, you all will bankrupt our country and we'll end up like England because we are spending all of this money that we don't have." I hope that others will voice their concerns on what could be the "final nail in the coffin," welcoming us to full socialism. Take care, everyone. This may be too idealistic....But I would like to see every elected official have to live by the same kind of honor code like that at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point: "A cadet will not lie, cheat, or steal, nor tolerate those who do." Not sure how this would be administered....But I'm sick of being lied to. I think we're all sick of this. At West Point, an Honor Committee of fellow cadets could recommend separation from the academy. I'm not sure that I would want elected officials serving as honor jurors for their fellow peers (since the powerful tend to protect their fellow power-holders, entrenched corruption, etc.). But maybe some regional honor committees staffed by specially trained citizens would be appropriate?? Regardless, if our representatives are lying to us - or TOLERATING peers who lie, cheat, or steal - they simply shouldn't be serving.
