The NamUs System is a dual database of the missing and the unidentified. Launched in 2009, it has become a great tool not only for law enforcement, but also for the general public. Anyone can search, see www.namus.gov.

Daily Camera.com: : Boulder\'s Flagstaff Star gets ready for its big night Sunday - Boulder Daily Camera

The Christmas star was reconfigured into an Easter Cross by the Chamber of Commerce, in 1948, then was changed back and forth between the star and the cross every year through 1969. At that time, the City of Boulder determined that the cross was a religious symbol, but the star was not. I'm just glad the star survived, as it's part of Boulder's history and culture.

The university vs. the prison is a myth that has been perpetuated over time. If you read the proceedings from the Territorial Legislature, you will see that Boulder put in its bid for the university the very first year –– in 1861. Boulder was never was considered for the penitentiary.
