-Cool. Everyone is unconscious.

-"It seems likely the crew won't survive." Cue cheerful opening!

-"Maybe you'd like to write it for me?" Huh? First you were talking about how you couldn't find a way not to write too much about him, and now you don't want to write about him at all?

-Ah, food talk again. I made stuffed artichokes tonight.

-Yes, terrify your patient! I'd never wanted to become a doctor, but I can suddenly see the appeal...

-"Condition red?" Are they going to come up with Red Alert in this episode?

-"It's a chair!" Well, Archer seemed to think his chair was priority one.

-Ha, there it is, Trip came up with red alert.

-Everybody is pretty ornery today. I guess whatever makes them go unconscious is slowly affecting them?

-Haha, aww, puppy.

-There we go. Radiation. One of the most frequently used plot devices ever. Can result in anything the writer dreams up.

-Well, call in sick Travis. Dr. Phlox will back you up.

-"I could be court-martialed!" Okay, I admit that I do kind of react like that when I'm ill and my SO is trying to get me to take a sick day, so I get it.

-Well, that is unethical.

-Ha, Hoshi is now obsessed.

-This conversation between Archer and Trip is cracking me up.

-Still sounds like a bag of cats, Malcolm.

-"One minute and 49 seconds!" For shame, Trip.

-Whoo! Them's fightin' words!

-I can't tell you how much I am enjoying this episode. It's a riot.

-"This crew is becoming erratic. Even by human standards." Ha.

-"This is a rare opportunity to explore the human brain!" Uh-oh, this doesn't sound good. Abort, abort!

-Thank you, T'Pol.

-"I'm in no condition to fly a starship." So... You just give up and die before you even start? Useless comment.

-"Did we get some nice pictures of the black hole?" XD

This episode was a blast. Great job, Enterprise. Nice job playing with the characters, good humor, a joy to watch.

-Well, this is familiar. I go through "find the lost item" on a daily basis.

-I like the runabout landing shot with its little light.

-This is also why I hate purses. I leave them places. Sometimes you don't get them back with all of their contents. It makes me downright angry that women's jeans have useless pockets at this point.

-This setting reminds me of the ToS "alternate Earth" episodes.

-I wish Garak was here. Would have been fun to see him desperately trying to come up with a story instead of Archer and Malcolm just standing there.

-/watches Archer and Malcolm talking in jail. I miss Garak and Sisko...and Julian...and O'Brian...and Ziyal...and Rom...and Nog... Dang it.

-Ha, makeup disguise ruined! I like it. Also, interesting that makeup is equivalent to "surgically altered" here. Makeup makes a lot more sense than surgery.

-I'm waiting for Trip to find Malcolm's lost communicator in a refrigerator on the ship.

-Well. That's cool. Cloaked arm. All kinds of possibilities for getting up to shenanigans with that.

-"I expect that your appendage will eventually rematerialize on its own! :) " I do love Dr. Phlox's cheerful demeanor. I guess I'm beginning to forgive him for abetting genocide with ludicrous arguments.

-Yeah, I'd probably just tell them the truth at this point.

-"Our immune systems have been enhanced," etc. Why?! Why would you say this? That just gives them an opening to test this out!

-"If I were to extract the organs," /rolls eyes Too typical. Bad job, writers.

-"Working at 110%" I'm having flashbacks to the Bedazzled remake. /looks up Bedazzled 110% quote Holy cannoli, that was 2000? Why do the years keep getting farther away?

-"We're doing the right thing Malcolm." Nah.

-"You were willing to sacrifice your life to protect them. I would not have expected that." My SO: "That's the kind of compliment you give. Face it, you're a Vulcan. That's why you hate them so much." Ha.

-Love the hole in the hand. I in no way think that the arm would reappear in that fashion (I would imagine it would gradually become visible as a complete unit), but it is hilarious enough that I don't care.

That was an episode. I found it kind of annoying, really. Very much boldly going where we have gone before (except, perhaps, for losing the communicator).

-"I can reeeach any star! I've got faith, faith of the hea-art!" Every time. I sing it every time.

-"I could polish all the handles and rails in engineering." Ha.

-"Cold weather gear, restraints, and phase pistols." Hm... Polishing the handles and rails in engineering sounds great.

-This sounds like a silly plot. Vulcan needs to capture person in unlikely scenario to restore honor... Wait, this is a Klingon episode.

-He thought no one would think to look for him on *Risa?!* T'Pol is saying this *seriously?!* Everyone goes to Risa eventually! Everyone! It's like saying no one would expect a wealthy criminal to go to Las Vegas. Like, just pitch a tent there and eventually your quarry will come through for their standard risqué vacation.

-Cool snowy building. And messy interior. I like it when Star Trek goes Star Wars for a while.

-"It's going to be very difficult to convince them he's indisposed for the next four days." Can't be that hard. I'm sure Dr. Phlox knows hundreds of diseases that could knock someone out for four days.

-"Captain Archer?" "Yes." LOL.

-"Healthy living." /dead

-This plotline is too dramatic. Can't take it seriously. (T'Pol's, not Trip's. Trip's is fantastic.)

-My SO says that my eyes look like T'Pol's eyes do currently (Menos lecturing her on killing Jossen) when I lose my cool. Huh.

-"He has a family!" So? Lots of criminals have families. (He may turn out to be innocent, but still. That's a lousy argument and I feel compelled to object.)

-(T'Pol and Archer outside going back to Menos's ship.) SO: "That's you, too."

-Are there no stun settings in this episode? Did we fall into an alternate dimension without stun settings? Oh, I guess there is this time.

Eh. I liked most of the episode, but it just got a little too over-the-top when T'Pol was remembering Risa, and not in the usual way with Risa.

-I see T'Pol has a new very nearly painted-on suit to saunter around in.

-Cute kid.

-Ooh, Klingons. I actually perk up with interest when Klingons are mentioned on this show (so far), unlike all the other series from TNG on when my reaction is more like: "Oh, Klingons." I think this is because I don't think I'm going to be submitted to a soap opera of warrior politics on this show.

-Very ToS Klingons. It's kind of a refreshing return.

-I hope the kid doesn't end up in trouble trying to do something brave or taken hostage or something like that. I always hate that kind of storytelling. It feels fake.

-High heels are not logical, T'Pol.

-I like Pratchett's version: "Give a man a fire and he's warm for a day, but set fire to him and he's warm for the rest of his life."

-Huzzah, Hoshi being impressive. (I always want to praise cool Hoshi portrayals because I *want* her to be cool. It irritates me that she is written to be so irritating.)

-Kid should not be fighting.

-Run after you throw the rock. Don't just stand there and wait for him to turn around and see you before taking off.

-The Klingons would probably realistically come back another time, kill everyone there for humiliating them, and *then* go find Deuterium somewhere else. I don't see how this plan would work in reality.

Meh.

I kept forgetting to respond to this one. I actually wouldn't think it would be that hard? To the general public you could most likely pass off a "I have a very rare condition. I have copper in my blood that makes it green..." To a doctor it would be more difficult, but how many doctors are going to automatically leap to "Ah-ha! He's an alien!" (I mean, I'm sure there are some, some people think various royalty and politicians are lizard people), but that's not really the most likely conclusion. They'd probably think they have a human with a collection of very unusual conditions first since that would be the most likely in a nearly-human-looking individual. And their DNA can't be that radically different since it has been programmed to follow the same developmental path and be nearly identical (more on a subspecies level of difference perhaps) to all other humanoids by the aliens that came before.

-These decontamination scenes are starting to take on a certain amount of humor for me. They are just so ridiculous and they *keep happening.* I just can't stay angry anymore. It's too funny.

-That looks like the worst bed to sleep on. Why are medical beds of the future so tiny and uncomfortable? I need room to constantly toss and turn.

-Also, I would sleep through every thing Dr. Phlox is doing.

-T'Pol is right. You really shouldn't have brought your dog along. Too many dog people bring their dogs along to the most inappropriate places, let them rampage off leash, and refuse to believe their dog did anything wrong. I think that is why I'm having a hard time getting into this episode. I have had to charge my horse at off-leash dogs multiple times to get them to back off. Luckily I've only personally run across one that was brave enough to get close enough nip my horse, and my mare is a darn good shot with a hoof. Some riders aren't so lucky. I sympathize with Archer in that it is lousy to think you are going to lose a beloved pet, but too many dog people cause so many problems (up to and including their dogs killing other people's beloved animals) and are often in such denial about damage their animals do (and this episode is way too close to that topic) that it keeps getting in the way of my enjoyment. There. I ranted. I feel better.

-I'm getting Munsters flashbacks. Grandpa is getting in trouble again!

-"Sexual tension?" Shut up, Dr. Phlox.

-Good job, Hoshi (although obvious CGI is obvious).

-Nooooo, not funny this time around. Do not want.

-Good job, Archer. In the end, you were willing to do what was necessary to make up for your dog causing problems. You get my dog person seal of approval.

-I hate this awkward "attraction" discussion. Blech.

-Porthos needs a cone of shame.

I was not into this one. Irritating subject matter, irritating and strange romantic(?) subplot, and Dr. Phlox's personal life has never been that interesting to me. Meh.

-Nice shot of the damaged ship, showing the interior.

-"...minor repairs." ?! What would he call "major?" The ship broken in half?

-I dunno, that sounds pretty cool, having Regulan bloodworms working away at your injury. Then again, if a human botfly larvae took up residence in my skin, I'd probably name it and observe and record the process, so...

-Cool ship. I really like the designs in this series.

-Way to be a klutz with expensive machinery, Trip, haha.

-I reckon this credit card bill is going to be way too expensive.

-Well, I guess they aren't all that concerned about the compensation, so way to be wrong, me. Still, I remember fixing a ding from a shopping cart in a car costing several hundred dollars, so I guess I expect a large part of a starship being blown off to result in an overwhelming repair bill.

-"It could be a transporter. An awfully small one." Is this a transporter for ants?!

-Archer: "The NSA is reading all of our information. This is wrong." Trip: "But the catfish!!"

-Eh. They might consider the knowledge they get from their scans part of the payment. With all of Archer's nervous behavior though, I assume the writers will eventually reveal some great evil behind this...which kind of disappoints me because it means the episode isn't being subtle enough.

-Aww, failed your stealth check.

-"Reed is old enough to make his own decisions." Good point.

-"He's dead, Captain." The Hell he is!

-"Your inquiry is not recognized" (and other garbage stock answers). This is what it's like trying to deal with Amazon Seller Support.

-You've barely given Travis characterization. I don't know how you writers expected this to have much impact. Not that I believe he's dead.

-This is not going in a direction I expected.

-Nice BS, Trip. "I want to speak to your manager!" This is the best.

-Run away!

-Cool. Payment is also one being from every ship rescued, I suppose.

-Hey, you left everyone else behind! (Not that you could effectively do otherwise.) I guess the fact that they have "heavy neurological damage" gives an excuse for our heroes to leave them behind...or blow them up, I suppose.

-Called it.

-Oh, haha, it's repairing itself. Nice.

I feel unfulfilled, not getting to know about the people who made that ship, their culture, and their motivations. Otherwise a fine episode.

-I wonder if football is now as dead as baseball in this future due to CTE.

-Daaang! Impressive opening explosion.

-Of course the Damsel of the Enterprise is a casualty. Of course. I fully expect her to trip and fall while running away from something dangerous and perhaps sprain an ankle at some point in the series. I'll put that in my season three predictions if it doesn't happen in season two and she doesn't shape up.

-Cloaked mine? Rom? Have you been here?

-Did they bring Romulans into this? Hm...

-Well. That's a heck of a note. This is going to be one of those episodes in which things keep getting worse bit by bit, isn't it?

-Ah, Malcolm's pessimism.

-"Let me partially sedate you here right quick... All right, now talk me through disarming a complex bomb." ?!

-"They're ordering us to leave their system immediately or they will destroy us." Ha, the way she says that. Sounds like "Of course, another alien threatening us with imminent destruction. Daily occurance. Sheesh." Lemme just insert my typical comment dissing her miracle translation ability here, though.

-"Well, I'm afraid I haven't started following one since breakfast, sir." Ha.

-Malcolm is such a stereotypical SJ.

-"What's the point of having a senior staff if they just sit around with their mouths shut? Glad they have opinions." :)

-I'm getting flashbacks to that Curious George in space episode that my daughter watched about 832 times, in which he has to solve some emergency by putting blocks into a board that are the right shape to fit the holes... Sorry, Archer.

-I kind of like this characterization study, but something bothers me about it... I think it's not subtle enough. It doesn't seem quite real.

-Yeeeaaah...this has gotten too dramatic for me to take seriously.

-Cool special effects throughout this episode.

-I dunno, this seems like it would be kind of like ducking into a tent to protect yourself from a hurricane.

Well, that was fun.

-Just one glass of wine (or any alcohol, really) makes me cranky. This is another reason why I'm not fun at parties.

-"10 days." Get it right, Archer.

-"Just how old are you?" Why doesn't she tell him? I mean, it's not like Vulcans have emotions...

-I dunno, thieving is pretty questionable, sir.

-"DEATH TO THE OPPOSITION."

-"What if you lose? I'll have to...socialize with him." And then I hear my husband chime in from across the room: "That's you."

-"Why don't you ask the merchant? You seem willing to engage everyone else in conversation." /takes the opportunity to call "That's you" to aforementioned husband.

-"Perhaps if you spent more time observing human behavior, you might have such a pessimisstic view of them." Ha! I like him, though. I like optimists.

-The neat holes Star Trek weapons make in stone are always hilarious in their sheer implausibleness.

-Well, all he has is pointed ears, Trip. A few decades later, they probably just thought he was a really devoted D&D player.

That was a relaxing episode.

-Time Traveler's outfit is a really silly design.

-I like the Suliban design.

-Woo, Trip looks angry!

-I like the human costumes. I also like watching the humans and Vulcans argue. At least one of the humans should have been a woman, though.

-These Suliban are so Evil McEvil.

-It's a good thing they stumbled upon this library...and haven't been affected by the timeline change...

-The egg came first.

-That is a weird looking space station. So much seemingly random stuff.

-That floating Archer head is hilarious. Probably not the reaction they were going for.

-"But you said you were in the future." That would be me, arguing over details that have nothing to do with the urgent, main objective.

-"You know how claustrophobic I am." Dang, I think Hoshi is made up of 90% weaknesses. Also again with the "I can't do it," and everyone having to coddle her. "You can do it. We need you to do it."

-I like Hoshi's no-nonsense demand to Malcolm to get her a shirt. Hoshi needs to show more confidence and assertiveness like that. Would make her a decent character instead of a chore to watch.

-Poor Suliban McEvil. I've had a connections like that. My sister had a "gender reveal party" once and tried to get me on Facetime when I was at a ride out in the middle of nowhere. I ended up in the middle of camp holding my phone up in the air over my head trying to maintain a connection for her, and it was still lagging all over the place. I'm sure I looked thoroughly ridiculous to the rest of the competitors.

-Wow, surprise Archer. I like it.

-Wow, that Vulcan ship really makes Enterprise look wimpy.

-This Vulcan is very grouchy. He also looks very familiar, but I don't know why.

-Heh, Trip is upset. I get a kick out of upset Trip.

-What is this speech? "We suck. We do get better, but really slowly. Gazelles are faster."

-Yeah, if this was realistic, that Vulcan would find some way to separate T'Pol from Enterprise in revenge for her vocal disagreement.

Part two of this episode was much better than part one. I still can't decide if it is the quality or just me. It could be that part one lost me when they had the extended "Archer is sad" scenes, and I never could revive interest in it. Since I've had a break, maybe now I have interest again.
