What I am impressed by is how outraged people are over something so minor and how often gay people use the word bigot. As a preacher Rick Warren represents the bible, which cleary states homosexuality is wrong. Your anger should not be directed at Obama or Warren it should be directed toward the Author of the bible. Maybe Obama should have chosen a preacher who doesn't believe in the bible. He does't have to good of luck with peachers :)

I apoligize to anyone I have offended. I do not hate or even dislike anyone because they are gay. I do believe that everyone should have equal rights. If two people regardless of sexual orientation have decided to spend thier lives together they should have the same basic rights anyone else has in terms of health and well=being. But I ask you all to not return evil for evil by slandering this man Obama chose to say a prayer at the inauguration he is not going to be making any decisions for this country single handedly, this is still a democracy although sometimes I wonder. I too represent a cause that is hindered by predjudice so I do understand your plight and I will support you in aquiring those rights you seek and deserve. Please go to this page and watch the videos. http://tv.mpp.org/shorts

Duane, Im not sure if you statement was directed to me or not but it could have been. If you do not think that the legalization of cannabis should be a national issue then you are sadly mistaken.

Now the title of this message board is "What social causes and service organizations are you a part of that make a difference in your community?" not what do you think about Obamas choice of Rick Warren. Granted I have been posting messages relating to my beliefs and my condoning of the legalization of cannabis, but I believe my messages are relevant to the subject. This is something that will make a difference in every community when its implemented helping people from all walks of life without discrimination and I am part of a social cause though not just in my community. So maybe you could consider finding a forum titled "What do you think about Obamas choice in Rick Warren" to post your comments. Or mention the social causes and service organizations you are part of instead.

Ive read about 100 post about how many of you are dissappointed about Obamas choice in Rick Warren but I cant see the relevance of that to this thread. You accuse Rick of being a bigot but his religion clearly states that homosexuallity is wrong. I also believe it is wrong, for reasons that seem so obvious to me. Im not being judgmental I also struggle with lust among other things that I find myself doing that I dont believe are right. I dont hate homosexuals but I dont believe in gay marriage either. So just because someone doesnt believe in gay marriage doesnt make them a bigot.

This is my cause and because of the misinformation of one man the entire country has had to continue to needlessly suffer the consequinces. The evidence is staggering the harms have been so exaggerated for so long it is still stuck in peoples minds. One of the arguments for making it illegal (which I imagine was a strong one at the time) was that it made black men think they were as good as whites. I wonder why they don't use that argument anymore. If you cant see that the only reason it is illegal is because of misconceptions like that one then you are blind. I keep repeating myself hoping someone will listen. Look at the evidence look at the story of why it was made illegal and then look at the results of the research in the past few years and tell me it should not be legalized. The legalization of marijuana will do more to strengthen and revive this country than probably all of the other social organizations combined. So its in you hands. How much longer must we wait. How can we allow one despicable man like Harry Anslinger to go on harming this country for so long despite the overwhelming evidence that he was so pitifully wrong??????????????????????

To the transition team. I apologize for getting off subject and responding to some of the ridiculous comments being presented here. But to answer your question currently I have signed up with MPP ( Marijuana Policy Project ) and my goal is to spread the word about how in 1930's we were lied to about the harms of cannabis and how that deception has all but gone unchallenged, until now, I think people are starting to wake up and realize the truth.

This is not just some pothead argument about the legalization of cannabis. Cannabis has the ability to provide food, fuel, biodegradable plastics, materials strong enough to make cars out of, paper, textiles, medicines, there are testimonies from people claiming that thc oil cured their cancer and the testimonies of doctors to back it up. Many recent studies that show the cancer killing properties of it and how it does not harm heathy cells. Not to mention the list of diseases it has been shown to help with just about all of them. How could that effect our troubled economy right now? Sure prescrition drug companies wont like it and it really breaks my hearth they stand to lose alot of money from one plant that can all but replace almost every drug on the market without causing the harmful side effect these other drugs do. __ These are not just my opinions these facts are backed by proven reseach by scholars and scientist. Please lets consider the evidence that one plant acctually has the ability to turn this countries desperate situation around on a dime. Get behind this idea, do the research yourself it isnt hard to find. Ill ask again why is it illegal? I know, do you?

It seems to me that this is one of the only sensable disscussions going on on this forum. I hope that will help in getting recognized as a legitimate cause. It is a tragedy that it is so difficult to undo something that was caused by lies coming from predjudice, selfish government officials so long ago and with all the proof that they were wrong. WAKE UP people do you really want things to get better for this country, consider this topic.

I would like this administration to strongly consider the complete legalization of cannabis. The evidence that this will be a huge benefit to this country is overwhelming you dont have to do much research to find that out. The ridiculousness of why it was made illegal in the first place should be embarrassing to the officials who continue to keep it illegal when it has been proven that it has so many uses that will be greatly beneficial to this country when it is made legal again.
