and I would be willing to bet there are 50 people and their countless family members that would have happily picked up the cost of that hotel room to not have to deal with the loss that they have dealt with.

as a fellow gay person, I don't understand a pride parade myself. I see the same things you see but as a human being, I do hope that regardless of hate, of religious intolerance, of just misinformation, equality will become the norm. Regardless of your preferences or beliefs, of what you think of when you hear the word gay, I would hope that the fact that gay people are PEOPLE and that everyone in this country that pays taxes, works, contributes to society would be deserving of rights given to others based on sexuality alone. All I want as a PERSON that either chooses or is born gay, is the right to live my life. I don't tell you how to live your life, I don't tell you that what you are or do is wrong based on my 'god' . And if you think that the sanctity of marriage is based on heterosexuality..check in with the thousands of scandals rocking democrats, republicans and celebrities and get back to me.

I know several gay servicemen/women that either are or have served. Its not about 'flaunting your sexuality' its about not getting the promotion because someone saw you at a gay bar. Who cares? chances are several straight readers here have been to a place that's considered 'gay' by some.. would you want your career based on where you were seen at some point?? If someone were jumping in front of a bullet for you, would their sexuality really matter?

KOMO - Seattle, WA : 4th graders find loaded gun on Seattle beach | KOMO News- Seattle, Washington| Local

someone ditched the gun for whatever reason.. the kids were lucky/unlucky enough to find it.. I say lucky because no one got hurt... unlucky in that everyone is freaked out by kids handling a gun. But.. how fantastic that everything turned out good! How great is it that someone took the time to tell them what to do when they find something dangerous. And they get to look cool to their classmates and how many kids are home right now getting a lesson on what to do if you find a gun?

no disrepect sagitdude.. but who says gay people have to define their 'marriage' based on religion? there are plenty of gay people that are christian or mormon or .... whatever.. Let's go extreme here and say that gay people should wear a pink triangle on their jacket so we recognize them? I say that there is no compromise..just as there isnt with anyone else's rights. you pay your taxes, you contribute to the economy, you pay your credit card bill and your mortgage and buy groceries and are a part of society and you are entitled to your basic civil rights granted under the constitution of the US. I say that until all are free..none are free.

well Right2Defend.. I have no intention of taking any rights away from you or granting you any more rights than you already have..but if YOU were trying to get your basic civil rights granted by the constitution, I would be right by your side demanding the same civil rights. You, and anyone else has every right to go to the polls and vote on what you want or dont want. Make your voice heard. california voters did just that and the supreme court upheld it. Good for them. However, I do not believe that anyone here, or in california would be worse off tonight had gays had the right to continue to get married.

I don't know why I'm shocked.. all of the regular posters seem to lack any sense of compassion or tact. I didn't know this man that died but I have a feeling that somewhere out there people loved him and seeing the images posted here and the blatant disregard of the comments here have to just be salt in the wound. Clearly mistakes were made but I hardly think that any of you can cast the first stone. I hope none of you have to deal with seeing your loved one plastered all over a news page and reading heartless comments about how stupid they were..or that they were 'probably a dealer' good grief some of you just make me sick.

I hardly think bullying is exclusive to lesbians. there are people out there that are just plain ol' A-holes. Sexuality has little to do with it. And your mom has every right to sue a company that won't take care of workplace bullies.

His first name would be Curtis. He's been in the news a lot lately since his trials are running about every month or so. and Freya_30.. no one understands what the H*LL anyone was thinking letting him go..I do know that out of 12 jurors that held that decision, one was the holdout and thought he should get another chance. I hope they are cringing with what they unleashed on society. thank god he'll never see the light of day again.

KOMO - Seattle, WA : Gay marriage supporters march through Seattle | KOMO News - Seattle, Washington | Local

I am totally shocked at the amount of hate on here. toomanypapers, I could care less about your opinion..you are clearly a closet case or just brewing in your own batch of hatred..good luck with that. I really don't see how anyone marrying anyone else could possibly effect anyone on here? The guy that calls his husband his spouse..much to the dismay of several on here.. the day he married his husband (and YES he is his husband) did anyone suddenly feel different? did the world end? did any of you even know about it? you only seem to care when it effects you..well guess what?? IT DOESNT EFFECT YOU! Canada, along with a handful of other countries, legalized gay marriage years ago and once again..the world didnt end. Get over it. Yeah, the vote went in the favor of those opposed to it and fine, You had your say and someday, it will tip the other way. history changes, people change and although you cannot equate homosexuality with slavery, I can't wait until some of your grandchildren look at you when you call someone a 'f*g" the way I look at my grandfather when he says the N word.

KOMO - Seattle, WA : Jet-hopping Tacoma runaway now a felon | KOMO News - Seattle, Washington | News

I may be speaking out of turn here since I haven't read the other 177 responses here..but since the 1st time he got on a plane and subsequently stole a car and tried to board another plane (etc) his mother has been nothing but PROUD of his behavior. yes. the mother has some responsibility here. if only every young wanna be criminal was treated with the same justice, perhaps we wouldnt have the same stupid crimes we have now. no one WANTS to be a felon at 11 years old..they cant possibly comprehend what that means..but when Mc'ds won't hire him..maybe then it will sink in. I hope he figures it out, I hope he becomes a decent member of society, but if he doesnt..good riddance!
