WMPoweruser.com : Brandon Watson gets snarky with ChevronWP7 updaters

Indeed, post was purely open and informative. I can understand the constant frustration over updates, though. After all, I use the bloody non-updateable Omnia7. -.-'

To put in simple terms; Apple owns many media related folks, their marketing is superb. This is no surprise to me whatsoever...

I usually dislike "what if" arguments; but I am 100% positive that Microsoft would've gotten a severe kick in the nuts if they actually tracked their users. For Apple? "It is a cool feature." Or "we're gonna report it, but it's nothing major."

WMPoweruser.com : Windows Phone 7 once again shown demolishing iPhone and Android Google Nexus S in HTML5 speed test

It most definitely isn't the case. Hardware acceleration enabled - occasional crash on other html5 tests. Disabled - all cool. Firefox works properly with HW acceleration, so does IE9. The only "worm" here is Chrome. So, Chrome 12 is even slower at 15 seconds. What? (Chrome 11 14sec) Relate that to OS, with argument, preferably. I love arguments.

It is completely unnecessary (redundant, even) to compare Android and iOS processors with WP7. Entirely different platforms when it comes to optimizations.

For gods sake, 8GB is something called MINIMUM. Why would they up the minimum to 16GB and increase the price of (all) devices when they are targeting the budget segment as well? No1 stops manufacturers to make 64 or 128GB devices if they see it necessary. There will be a choice, after all.

Oh, now I see why it is turned off by default; after few more speed tests Chrome is constantly crashing with hw accelerated html5 content. Nice fishbowl test with blank black square <3.

While desktop version of Chrome 11 (latest beta) where I had to MANUALLY go to about:flags in order to enable hardware acceleration (so I didn't get it by default) does provide similar framerate, it seems that the score is still half of IE9 provides; Chrome 11.0.696.43 beta 14seconds with average draw duration 13ms IE9 9.0.8112.16421 7seconds with average draw duration 08ms
