Well, being behind a season on Dexter was bound to catch up to me at some point. Wish I hadn't read that middle paragraph.

I appreciate that Larry. Somehow I've missed this movie and I've just put it to the top of the list on Netflix. I will now endeavor to avoid reading any comments on the movie until I can watch it!

Darkwolf, I was curious about your reference to Bucharean merchants and spent the last hour or so reading up on the history of the Jews in central asia. Fascinating! Thank you!

Big Hollywood : Law and Order: C.I. -- Christian Serial Killer Episode Fair to Christianity

I think that was a little close minded Kipling. If you stopped watching after the 20th episode that attacked the Catholic Church that means you missed a couple of good episodes in seasons 2-12...

I should probably do this under a different tag so it doesn't follow me in the future, but I agree wholeheartedly. TOS is almost unwatchable for me. While I loved TNG at the time, many episodes are almost unbearable as repeats. But DS9 simply grew into something amazing. I doubt I'll receive any backup on this one, but Voyager is by far my favorite of the bunch. The Doctor, Janeway, Seven of Nine, Kim, Paris. What a great bunch and what great chemistry. A crew that unlike any other starship crew in the Star Trek universe was actually alone and exposed for the whole run, in constant existential danger. Fantastic!

Big Hollywood : DENIED: Bigotry of the Obamatrons

Miles, note you purposefully avoided using the definition of "censorship" and instead gave the definition of a related, but not identical, word. You also only chose piecemeal definitions. I've never seen an OED definition that short, you maroon. It also doesn't address Freedom21's point. Where, even in your intentionally distorted attempt to provide a definition, does the word "GOVERNMENT" appear? What's that tool, it's not there? I guess Freedom was right and you were wrong. Enough time wasted on a low-down troll. Make me some pie, biatch!

The "church" didn't you freaking ignoramus. The civil authorities in Spain were the driving force.
Big Hollywood : Tea Parties, Homeland Security and Silencing the Opposition

Nuts AND evil. LawhawkSF isn't EXCUSING these actions you freaking idiot! Nazism is an evil ideology. Communism is an evil ideology. McVeigh's socialist/white-supremacist/stormfront ideology is evil . The Unibomber's anti-technology ideology is evil. Certain (unfortunately widespread) interpretations of Islam are evil. The Weather Underground's ideology is evil. Your equating the mainstream political ideology of your fellow citizens with murderous ideologies is evil. Why don't you go ahead and register so you can start accumulating your minuses like an honorable person. Oh, that's why.

Big Hollywood : Public Radio: Easter Scrooge

Whizbang, you seem sincere, but also very very simple (as in simpleton). OF COURSE every religion pushes itself as truth, to the exclusion of other religions. That's the entire freaking point you idjit! Even ridiculous groups like Unitarians and Episcopalians, who don't take a strong stand on the existence of God, the divinity of Christ or authority of the bible and syncretically incorporate elements of every faith tradition (or at least every element that would be appealing to your typical Whole Foods shopper) are themselves making an exclusionary claim about the nature of truth. As are atheists such as yourself. It's true of any ideology. Libertarians push libertarianism, conservatives push conservatism, liberals push idiocy, I mean liberalism. What do socialists push? Now you're getting the hang of it! You state that you do not "whine about some insignificant radio program" - but at least the whiners here are the ones paying for the damn program they're complaining about - a program that airs nationwide under the auspices of our government. You, on the other hand, are "whining" about a post on a blog. So why don't you go to, um ... some analog for church for you atheist types (maybe an adult book store?) and um, shut your pie hole. Not aimed at atheists but all assh*oles!
