It will just NOT upgrade it (so you will have the 2.2 firmware's baseband with 2.2.1 firmware. There is no baseband downgrade yet and it might never be... If you updated your 3G with itunes and you want an unlock then... you are f****d... And maybe permanantly because the new baseband update was only to close the security hole that yellowsn0w used.
