Jim912, I commend your defense of the insurance companies, in an indefensiable position. And I can assure you that no matter how many veterans "you" work with I will not be one of them when you condone the the abuse of veterans. As for my spelling, as one of my graduate professors school pointed out, "it is a weak mind that attacks form rather then content."

Interested One,,,,I am so glad you are a proponent of the insurance company acting as a nanny for the poor igorant family. But first let's ask this,,can one trust the insurance companies to be fair with us ? Can one trust them to be honest with us? Can we trust an insurance company to EVER,EVER,EVER, do the decent, moral, and honorable thing? Do you remember the K Insurance scandal where innocent people bought annunites for retirement and K sold them off and when the company they sold them to went belly up K merely said, "sorry", but we acted in good faith to even though we got our profit first and you can go s_ _ _w yourself? If you answer yes to any one those questions, I have genuine pictures and authenitic hair of Big Foot that I am willing to sell you at considerably less then I paid for them.

It's very sad when a man has such low self-esteem and self-respect he must create a fanasty world to show his worth. He has plead guilty, and is paying his debt to society, and is most likely very ashamed. Its not like he fell asleep on guard or tried to hide with Charlie at the wire. Let him be, his punishment is having to live with himself every day and that is far worse then anything we could do to him. The bible tells us that once a man has repented and asked forgiveness, (and i think, been sentenced), no additional punishment should be given him. What was that line from the Merchant of Venice, "....the quality of mercy is not strained, but fallth as the gentle rain from heaven....",

And, remember to purists, and seasoned riders, its not what you ride, NEVER HAS BEEN, IT IS, AND ALWAYS HAS BEEN ABOUT THE RIDE....(I ride a Road King) I sincerely hope you and your beautful young bride (you dirty old man) have many years of riding together. I hope she knows she is getting a Human Being for a hubsand, and real Human Beings are very rare indeed.

I would not want my mother, my sister, my wife harassed by some unthinking igorant bafoon. I think we all agree on that. The second half was an editorial full of crap. Please stay on task.

This is just another example of lawlessness at the highest levels. The top men are pressured and instead of doing the honorable thing, they act to make themselves look good by reducing the number of section 8 discharges, by blaming the victim. They know they will only be punished if they are caught. So, don't get caught, you can always have plausiable denyability. ONCE, again the lawlessness is committed because of lack of interenic morals, instead of a knowledge of good and evil. I am afraid of today's military. They only owe their alligeance to each other and to their superiors. And this article tells of a military leadership that is corrupt and self serving.

Actions this awful by seemingly normal people are freightening. I can remember a time when it wasn't every man for himself. The greatest danger to our country and our society is the continueing lawlessness at all levels. It almost like everyone has decided its only wrong to lie, cheat, steal, murder if you get caught. Our motivation is no longer self monitoring but outwardly monitoring. I don't lie, cheat, steal, and plunder because of my fear of punishment not because we know its wrong. The absence of God in all aspects of our lives, as it used to be, has led to this. And the removal of God from our lives, left a vaccum and guess who is filling the vacancy?

brancovet is right, the founding fathers (not just Madison) believed that religion should be protected from the state not that the state should be protected from religion. If one reads the Fedreralist Papers you will see a clear, and concise agreement on the protection of religion from state interference. NOT the protection of the state from religious inteference. But in the last 50 years lawyers have chipped away at defeating the constituion and the Billl of Rights. To the point i now ask, am I better off wihtout God in our society then 50 years ago when God was so prominent in our society? 50 years ago did we have the lawlessness in our society that we have now? 50 years ago did we have the "screw the country its every man for himself"? 50 years ago it would have been unthinkable for someone to do this to a VFW site. This is shameful, a disgrace, but I give you a guarantee it will get a whole lot worse in the next few years.

Tsk, tsk, don't be to hard on the admiral. He is not a warrior, he is a CEO and politico. What he really wanted to say was, you war vets cost to much money. We should do like some countries and have a charity give you a tin cup with pencils, Then assign you to a street corner to rattle the cup and beg. That way his military could be rid of the messy business and expense of death, dismemberment and disability.

I guess the Taliban will want us to give them money for the amount of air pollution during the war. Charlie won, through sheer willingness to suffer, and endure. To give them any kind of money, assistance, and would degrade their victory. I wish I could be with Charlie as he stands shoulder to shoulder and helps rebuild his paradise without the assistance of the hated, money grubbing, imperialists. No, it would smack of colonialism to offer any help in any form even foreign aid. I say Vietnam for the Vietnamese. We should even deny those coming to beg the capitalist dogs for money a visa. DOWN WITH ANY CAPITALIST MONEY FLOWING INTO THEIR WORKERS PARADISE IN ANY FORM.

The British Army also had a rum ration. Which was replaced by wine or beer if rum was unavailable. You have to remember that the Birish controled the production of rum in the carribeanan (sp), the production of wine in europe, (by tarirff on the french imports) and the production of beer. So it was also an economic interest to keep the troops and sailors half loaded. This said, one must remember the "Sun never set on the Britsih Empire". There buildt an sprawling empire on half straved, half looped military men. We on the other hand do not fight for a monarchy, we fight for the corporations. You judge which is the purer motive.
