Big Peace : Ron Paul: The GOP’s Henry Wallace

The author states, "Of course, Thursday was hardly the first time the libertarian congressman went out of his way to make excuses for America’s enemies, or blame America first." The statement is bluntly and unequivocally untrue. In Congressman Ron Paul's explanation was the essence of non-interventionism and respect for nation's sovereignty just as we used to expect our own nations sovereignty to be respected. If articles are going to be written against the policies espoused by Ron Paul, the Libertarians and Paleo-Conservatives they should be honest and accurate or they will be given no more credence that the Main Stream Media.

New York Tenth Amendment Center : The 14th Amendment and Incorporation

While Hamilton may have offered that suggestion, which thankfully never became any more than a suggestion. However his writings in the Federalist Papers show his inclination toward a foundation of government formed not by social whimsy but by a solid foundation in the firmament of law. I find your use of the term "democracy" very enlightening as to your position as your stance is very obviously one that would be taken be someone who considers the government form of our nation a "Democracy." Thankfully, it is not a democracy. Our form of government is a Republic, as noted by Dr. Franklin as he exited the Constitutional Convention upon completion of the drafting of our government foundations. Perhaps more accurately he could have described our form of government as a Constitutional Republic, but no withstanding some democratic philosophies, our form of government is a Republic formed by the Constitution. In regards to your suggestion that our nation and its government was not formed with religious views as a major part of its foundations, I can only suggest that you read the writing of our founders. You might discover that their thoughts on our very freedom and liberty which was the basis of our nation were derived from God and faith. I might also suggest that our laws date back to Moses and the 10 Commandments, which predated Roman and British law. As an aside I also find it interesting that I would quote Hamilton, as out of all of our founders I perhaps hold him in the lowest esteem. Hamilton was throughout our nations early history a proponent of a central banking system and in league with the European bankers at the time. These central banking concepts in 1913 became the Federal Reserve, who in concert with the international banking community, adversely control the very economy we have failing around us. Frankly I am no fan of Hamilton. All in all I find this dialog is becoming somewhat cyclical and as all cyclical discussions will never result in either of us convincing the other.

In response to Mr. Clark's suggestion that our Constitution need be flexible to accommodate the whims and fantasies of mankind. I would take exception to the assumption that as a society we have become more enlightened when in fact although scientifically we may have made progress, our society as a whole has become less intelligent, more apathetic, more complacent, and more willing to remove itself from the demands of being free. It must be remembered that our Constitution and the very foundations of our Republic are based not on the "Rule of Man" but on the "Rule of Law," stemming from both "Natural Law" and the Laws of Natures God." Alexander Hamilton The Federalist Papers Federalist No. 34 Categories: Constitution Date: January 4, 1788 "Constitutions of civil government are not to be framed upon a calculation of existing exigencies, but upon a combination of these with the probable exigencies of ages, according to the natural and tried course of human affairs. Nothing, therefore, can be more fallacious than to infer the extent of any power, proper to be lodged in the national government, from an estimate of its immediate necessities."

While Adams was not a delegate to the Constitutional Convention per se, it was he that wrote the separation of powers into the Massachusetts Constitution and was successful in promoting the concept to the delegates for inclusion in the US Constitution, ( 16th Principle, Separation of Powers, 5000 Year Leap, Skousen).

Actually the "separate but equal" concept was a foundational block of our nations Constitution form which emanated the three headed eagle, or three branches of government. In fact the origination of multiple branches was the brain child of Polybius (204 - 122 BC) whom our founders studied just as they studies Plato, Cicero and later others such as the 18th century scholar, Baron Charles D'Montesquieu. It was Montesquieu's introduction of the separate "but equal" branches that eventually became the Constitutional foundation for our Republican form of government. This is not to say that the separation of powers, and three separate but equal branches concepts were not without opposition. In reality, John Adam's was nearly a sole proponent of the concepts, and evoked the disapproval of Franklin among others and three fiery wrath of Thomas Paine. My point being two fold. First that case law, even if derived from Supreme Court cases, does not and cannot change the original intent of the Constitution as it was designed and written. Secondly the concepts of separate but equal were formulated long before the anyone laid quill to parchment in drafting the Constitution.
