I take Amtrak on a regular basis and am quite familiar with the procedures. The people in that car DID complain to the attendant. Announcements WERE made over the intercom on the train about people on cell phones. This indivudal chose to ingnore the announcements, as well as the attendents when she was asked to refrain from using her cell phone. This isn't a white, yellow, brown, purple or blue thing. This is one individual who CHOSE to do what she wanted, when she wanted, how she wanted, and to whom she wanted when she wanted. It's definitely not a black thing. This is the current (whatever you are) thing. She was not willing to follow the acceptable behavior in that environment. All acceptable social behavior is being abandoned in favor of "it makes me feel good at this moment."
