Yes, Hasbro. Have Daniel put together a giant studio recording session with a massive choir and all, and record new songs for a new album, only to release it on a 256kbps download-only format with no CD or high-resolution audio options. Makes perfect sense.

I don't do iTunes or digital downloads. When is Hasbro going to start releasing these albums on CD?
There's even a frikkin' vinyl record release through Hot Topic, only the DJ-Pon3 remix album on CD so far. :/

Pay $250 to get a Sponsor badge, receive "First access to purchase exclusive event tickets". In other words, as someone I know put it, "You can pay extra to get an expensive ticket, that allows you to be first to pay extra to get more expensive tickets".

I know that conventions are there as a business to make money and that there's other stuff included in the Sponsor badge, but this just seems like really high price gouging and in a way it's a bit unfair. You already have to pay $60 to get entry to the con, I just think it's a bad precedent that there are now "premium" events that you have to pay even more money for just to attend. BronyCAN had one of those and I thought that was bad enough... although I guess most bronies are made of cash that they can afford to spend their money left and right like this. (I can't - I try to be as conservative as I can with my spending cash, I mostly get autographs and very little else - to be fair though I've only ever been to BronyCAN, and if I went to a US con I'd be paying an extra 33% with the exchange rate right now)

I'm curious as to what parents with kids who attend cons with these sorts of premium events think about this. Anyway, more power to those with the cash, I guess, but I personally don't support it. :/

Perhaps Hasbro should utilize their partner Lakeshore Records to put out some proper albums on CD with the songs and score. I would really like that over iTunes. Never used iTunes, not planning to anytime soon.

"For some reason, my copy said that it was limited to 1000 copies. wonder what that's all about."

Would you mind taking a picture of this for me? I've got my copy on order and don't have it yet.

Now if only they would license out the soundtrack album rights to La-La Land or Intrada Records so we could get proper soundtrack CDs with songs and score (rather than the half-baked, barely servicable download-only releases Hasbro does...).

And if I'm not mistaken, this is Ellen Kennedy's first MLP convention appearance as well.

Fun fact: Rob Renzetti created Teenage Robot, he was story editor on pony for seasons 1 and 2, and he now works on Gravity Falls. :)

There's also a fan project being done to make seasons 4 and 5 of Teenage Robot: http://www.teenagerobotrebooted.com/
