I took my snowblower there right before X-mas for a much needed tune up and they did a good job. Of course I had procrastinated so long that we were already in the middle of winter and they had a 2 week backlog.

Exactly my point. More guns on the street won't deter criminals from robbing stores (including gun stores). They just wait until it's closed when nobody is there. Besides the fact that so many criminals are too stupid to think someone might be carrying or they commit nonpremeditated crimes and with that adrenaline rush while committing the crime aren't going to be thinking about who might be carrying guns.
