Actually, Officer Wilson didn't feel he needed to resign. He thought he would continue with his career as planned. It was when the Department came to him and suggested he resign for the safety of his coworkers was resignation considered. Therefore, it is a forced resignation. That's where you're wrong. Officer Wilson did not 'voluntarily resign'. He was essentially forced out by threats to not only himself and family but the department itself. He resigned for the safety of his fellow officers even though he wanted to continue on his law enforcement career. He sacrificed his career for the safety and betterment of the department without severance or future possible employment. All because of misinformation and some who would break the law he swore to uphold. Officer Darrin does deserve to either be supported by the city of Ferguson or by donations from those who thank him for his selfless act. These are the facts lost in the hyperbole.

Are you speaking of the Dillon Taylor incident? The incident in where the White teen was shot in the back by a Black Officer? If so, you may want to explain exactly what people are suppose to 'donate' for.
You see, the Officer was found to have legally shot. The Officer did not lose his job nor was the community torched. There is no illegal bounty on this officers head either.
Officer Wilson, on the other hand, was attacked by a suspect in a prior strong arm robbery and shot the suspect as he again committed a Felony by charging the Officer. He was forced to resign from the department for security reasons and has an illegal bounty on his head.

So please explain what the Officer in Utah would need donations for?

(2.9% of spending) People collecting welfare in Florida = 5,837,333 Drug testing cost = $583,733,300.00 @ $100/test x all receiving welfare Savings = $4,511,566,700.00 (payment to 2.9% - testing cost) The savings would be substantially more if ALL welfare recipients were tested for drug use. As it was, ONLY those who answered 'yes' when asked if they used illegal drugs were tested. You can even pick up a 12 panel drug test at any pharmacy for $50 or less. Welfare recipients collect $60,000 +/- per year. The lie that it costs more for drug testing than would be saved with refusing welfare to drug users does not make mathematical sense, nor fiscal sense.
