Baltimore Sports Report : Win Two Tickets to O's vs Mets on June 11th from BSR

My favorite moment was a game i went to, I got there really really early to get into batting practice with the rest of the people, and by some chance, I got in, and immediatly, a ball came to me. I dropped the ball, and some of the players started jokingly yelling at me. I held up the ball, and Danys Baez (funny guy) motioned that I should throw it to him. I did, and when he threw it back, he threw it about 5 feet short of the wall. I made a crazy play over the wall to grab it, and after I did, I got cheers from all the fans watching the players on the field who had turned to watch this. It was amazing to see the players watching me for a moment, and something that I will never forget. The Orioles went on to win that game of course, which added to the amazing day

Baltimore Sports Report : Trembley Watch 2010 - The Possible Replacements

So we won't look at Bell, but look at Hughes and Arrietta. Rhyne has been great in his first series in the big leagues. He debuted in a huge market, important games, and on a team that was on a losing streak. He has helped pull us out of that, using the veterans around him, and learning from them, all while playing great defense and swinging a very hot bat. It has been great to see that out prospects are doing well. Jake Arrietta has also been tearing up the pitching in the minors, and it seems that by the All Star break he may be wearing an Orioles jersey and be pitching in our rotation. Those are just 2 of the guys that have made a huge impact, before May begins, on some team in our organization!

Baltimore Sports Report : O's bring up Hughes for power at the plate

I agree that us die hard fans havent had to much to cheer about, but, todays lineup showed hope. We all know that our starting pitching is good, and finally, we got to hit a few to the wall. Even with the amazing defense of Beltre at third, we were able to score runs in bunches which is something we showed that we could do during spring training. Hopefully, as Meredith said, this will carry over and that we will be able to build on this game.

Well look at this- He is 2-2, 1 rbi in his debut. He has been playing fine defense at first base, and is making a great first impression. No one has said if this will be a short stint in the major leagues, but if he keeps hitting and driving in runs like we saw that he could do in Spring Training and like he has so far tonight, he may take over Atkins' spot in the lineup a few times a week. Don't you love great first impressions!

Yea- and I hope that this trip gives it to them. that would be great. I don't want Datz to be the new manager either, but I guess the team has more insight on that then us.

it is tough to keep losing, and I know that if we hadn't won the second game of the season, we would be talking about 1988 and comparing the teams. The trip will help us out, and if we get some quality wins against these teams out west, hopefully when we come home and have to play both the Yankees and the Red Sox at home, it won't be all visiting fans. We are used to having Fenway South or Yankee Stadium South, and with the losing, and the fans not coming to games, it could be one of the hardest home stands to find another Oriole fan. I hope that even with the slide, and hopefully with a few more wins, our fans will realize that the team needs the support and get out there.

it sure is. even in the new MASN commercials he is promoting the idea of team, and not the individual awards, and I know that there is a script for those, but I have to believe that he thinks the same thing, which is great!

I think that the guys in the locker room know that he will be a leader, and because he has the experience, and he is treated like a vet, he will be a guy that everyone can relies on. I like the choice of Jones, and I think that with this, the future is bright, and with Jones leading the guys, this season will be a successful one. The other players will rely on Jones, just like he will rely on the rest of the guys to lead the team with him. It takes a whole team to do well, and I don't think that with Jones at the helm, that he would let the team fall apart like other teams have.
