KOMO - Seattle, WA : Second woman claims Puyallup mayor inappropriately touched her | Local & Regional | Seattle News, We

Really? How on earth would you know if she is being untruthful? Combined with the other claim it sounds quite plausible - especially given that she mentioned it to someone right after it happened. It's nothing to prosecute him over, but if he had a shred of decency he would resign and let someone else run the city - this mayor is too out of touch for the job.

So you would ask them to join, but to lie all the time or be kicked out? When another boy asks if you think Miley Cyrus is hot, you're supposed to say "yeah" so that you aren't ejected? Gay men spent a lot of years pretending to be straight. What kind of emotional damage do you think that does at a vulnerable age?

You called me a "dummy" for getting one letter wrong in the word "apostrophe". What's the right thing to call you for missing an entire syllable here? It looks like you made another little spelling mess for me to clean up. That should be "murderer".

Boy scouts are 11-18, so I'm not sure where you are getting the 8 year old. Most kids are becoming acutely aware of sexuality at that age - there's no reason to segregate gay kids. Treating all kids with dignity is not an LGBT agenda, it should be the agenda of all fair-minded people.

KOMO - Seattle, WA : Woman raped at Tacoma park | Local & Regional | Seattle News, Weather, Sports, Breaking News | KOMO

The last time you and I were both commenting on an article, you were taking issue with people assuming that the driver who ran from the cops at 3AM and rammed a house was drunk. You pointed out that you once had a job where you got off at about that hour. When you were leaving your 3AM job, how did you get from your car to the house? It seems like you defend men who run from the police while you assume that a woman who was raped must have her own judgment or profession to blame.

I know they blacked out a couple of details, but I would not let my teenage daughter's license be posted on the internet for all to see - this is a really bad idea. I suspect that a typo like this is extremely rare, but mistakes get made everywhere. If the family were seeking a little less attention, they could have just had it fixed by the DOL without exposing their daughter to such fanfare.

Finally! These agencies have amazing power, but no accountability. Even if you're someone who doesn't want a loan, job applications, insurance eligibility, and many other things are controlled by these immutable and fallible reports. As databases grow, we need to take another look at how we let private companies buy and sell information about individuals.

You claim nobody is blaming the victim? Have you read the comments? Actually, they are. You, especially with your "just sayin'" quote above. As you well know, "just sayin'" is code for "everyone knows what I'm implying here". In your case, the implication is very obvious - it's "I'm as tough as can be, and I wouldn't have been in this situation, so a woman who was in this situation was stupid, asking for it, or lying". You should be ashamed of yourself for blaming the victim - and more ashamed of yourself for being indignant when anyone is called on it. Also, your use of the term "walk the streets" above can't be accidental. Are you saying that any woman who is out late at night must be a sex worker?

Why do I get the feeling that you are looking for one more way to assume the victim was at fault here? There is a mentality of looking at rape victims and trying to find some reason to assume that the woman asked for it, invited it, or deserved it. Your comments here typify that mentality.

What if the only way to feed your family were a night shift job and you had to walk from the bus stop to your house to take care of your children? I don't know if that's the case here, but it seems that we easily forget that not everyone can pull directly into their attached garage.

Holding the door open is not "part of being a man". Courtesy knows no gender bounds and certainly doesn't define one's gender. Women are not delicate creatures who must always be sent first through a doorway. Despite the fact that the vast majority of rape claims are truthful, you seem to reserve a special skepticism for rape victims. If there's one thing that I would agree makes you less of a man, it's automatically doubting the word of a rape victim.

You must be confused about the definition of rape if you think you can do it with words. In Washington, rape is defined as non-consensual penetration - with anything - not just your "man parts". To imply that one can rape with words is to take away from the severity of the actual crime of rape. Words can indeed be hurtful. Just as it is hurtful to crime victims and their families to imply that a rape victim was at fault or untruthful because you don't like her choice of night time location.
