Thanks for writing this, I know it must have been difficult. I've never had an abortion, but I know I would have one if I got pregnant at this point in my life, and reading a piece like this makes me feel more prepared in case it happens. It's somewhat comforting to know what to expect. I feel like I was conditioned to think that abortions emotionally wreck you for life and you'll always wonder, blah blah blah. Reading this, there are definite repercussions, but I think people like to scare women into believing it's much worse.

It came out when I was a teen, so I'm voting yes.

I love this movie, and have seen it too many times to even count...and yet, I feel like no one else I know has even heard of it. I'm glad it was posted here. The baby Theadosia! The bathroom in the middle of the apartment! The prom! It's so wonderful.

101 Dalmations sheets for a teenage boy?!

Sadly, this is the information I just can't move past. I think it's because the rest of this was just so, so awful. I don't even know what to say, other than that I'm glad I didn't see it. I always thought Caitlynn and Tyler's parents took the cake for being the most awful people in the world, but Deb is clearly the new winner.

I moved out of there in 2006 (I've been back to visit friends a few times, however). I lived there from 1998-2006 though, for high school and college at NMSU. I wasn't a huge fan of the town, I'm originally from the East Coast so I never really fit in there. I left when I started graduate school back on the East Coast. I do, however, miss the food and sunsets. It had its charms.

I actually go to Albuquerque all the time now, and although there was a weird rivalry between LC and ABQ (as in, Southern NM people hated it for no real reason), now I actually like it better there. I envy your warm climate since I live in Colorado now.

Are you referring to baby Lyle with Nikkole, aka the world's biggest doormat? God, he was the absolute worst. I believe he yelled at her in the delivery room, and started a fight with her mom? He also cheated on her, and just acted like an all-around pig. I wanted to drive up to their hometown and smack him in the mouth. He was definitely the douchiest of the douches.

I think my favorite is "Leah Leann." Oh, Amber. At least Caitlynn and Tyler's baby had a normal name, but then again, they didn't choose it.

I don't know why the boys tend to have more normal names. But I do remember there was a parent on there who had a weird spelling of Isaiah as his first name. I think it was "Isiah." Does that count? (Maybe he was named after the basketball player?)

I just cancelled my cable TV, so I am grateful for these recaps!

Isn't it awful that I knew, just KNEW, that her child would have a horrifically spelled name before I got to the birth part? You could see "Miah" coming from a mile away. I will admit my first guess was "Nevaeh" though.

I think Farrah was concerned about stretch marks too. It's almost touching how naive these girls are, that they aren't even concerned about scary things associated with having a child.

The father sounds like he belongs in the 16 and Pregnant Douchebag Dad Hall of Fame though. A DUI by 17?! Good god.

My friend always ended up with guys like this in her life. But in her case, she would meet them once in a bar, give them her number because she felt bad, and they would end up texting her randomly for months. She would go 4 months without hearing from one of the randoms, and then would get a "Hey girl" text or something equally lame. I can't imagine what the communication would be like if she had actually dated one of these guys.

Did this guy live in Las Cruces? That's pretty much the only place within 3 hours of Alb, and it made me laugh because I have always used that drive as a marker of distances ("223 miles? Oh, that's like driving to Albuquerque) since I lived in the LC.

I had a friend from Mexico who had no idea why we celebrated it in the States. The real Mexican Independence Day is in September, I believe, so they have real parties then.
