Yes, you are correct that there are some understandable variations in this practice among those who care about Ember Days. The days of the week for embertides don't change but the holy/saint days to which they are linked certainly do. Some will, for some consistency-sake, say, "always the week after." I side with those who don't delay and simply say the tide follows as closely as possible after the day. Thanks for reading. ScotK

Thanks, Rick for the link. I have run across the ustoo.org site but have so far been intimidated by the shear amount of info available to yet make my way through it. I will do some more digging there, especially the support chapters, and make more use of the site. I have also found the YANA site and they have some good information and forums there. Rick, may I ask what type of surgery did you have? And in your life, what lead you to the choice of that surgery over the other, and choosing surgery over radiation?
