They are having enormous difficulties in feeding their massive population. This is an area along with the high tech sector where we need to be actively trading with China. Whilst I agree that China's history to date on treatment of people is pretty bad, I would adhere to the philosophy that Ireland's needs must come first. It is much more effective and easier for us to negotiate on human rights when they have a dependency on us as a supplier.
