I just have one question for folks who think ALL muslims should leave India. Do you think when Irfan Pathan and Zaheer Khan bowl their heart out while playing for India they just do it for the money ? Or when Abdul Kalam was leading DRDO design missiles, rockets and nuclear technology he was trying to make a 'muslim' bomb to be used by muslim countries against infidels ?

How can we insult the contribution of our fellow countrymen just because some other, more vocal and definitely more infamous people of their religion have given a display of their religious madness ? Sikhs for one should understand this better, this was the same madness that engulfed Delhi in 1984... where innocent followers of their religion were mercilessly killed by mobs, just to punish them for the activities of few other sikhs. Will we ever learn ?

Nalwa, I don't need the source of your 60 % statement, they could have been 100 % for all I care. But if you are questioning my statement of thousands of muslims fighting for India and you want proof, I am amazed that you claim to be an ex-soldier. You won't even need to go far back in history, look up the honor rolls of the Kargil war (VCs, MVCs, PVCs). Most of the J&K regiments and esp. the JAKLI (J&K Light Infantry) are made up of muslims soldiers and officers. The Grenadiers had a lot of muslim soldiers too. I was in Delhi at that time and I very distinctly remember Captain Hanif from delhi had given his everything for the nation. I am sure they were many but I remember his name as he was from Delhi too. In fact did you know that the JAKLI units have a tradition that the last rites of their fallen men are performed by Muslim, Sikh and Hindu priests together ?

The Indian Armed forces are probably the only entities that haven't been touched by the caste and religious madness, and I hope it stays that way.... which is why what Col. Purohit did (if he did) was anti national.

Jalandhar, from your post it seems like you have never really stayed in Punjab or even read about its social fabric. What you are saying about the caste differences being muted during the Gurus' times is true, but that isn't the case today.

There is a reason why splinter groups like Dera Sacha Sauda have a following of more than 10 million, of mostly so-called dalit hindus and sikhs.... yes sikhs as well. And that is because the lower caste sikhs had become disenchanted by the organized sikh religion which has been hoodwinked by jats and sikh rajputs. The dalit sikhs (mazhabi and all) even have their own gurudwaras. Unfortunately, the caste lines in India run deep and refuse to go away. But to believe that Punjab has alleviated this problem is a delusion at best.

Nalwa, I would agree. They did the right thing and it was their call. Its easy for everyone else to expect them to fight back and rise up. I would hope that if the hindus and sikhs want to come up to India, they should be allowed to do so, but I don't think there would be any such blanket policy, for whatever reasons.

Nalwa, I haven't seen or heard that clip, I have only read somewhere on blogs and such forums that Varun did utter something against the sikhs. But frankly speaking, I doubt that, his mother is a sikhni too. But you never know, politicians wouldn't think twice before going against their own mothers.
However, I would say this, a lot of times, there are lot of rumors and hate mongering by khaslistani propagandists online (and by that I don't mean you or anyone else on this forum) about how hindus and/or their leaders keep dragging the sikhs unnecessarily into controversies. This in their own sick minds, give them opportunities to fabricate instances of politico-religious injustices. I am sure there are genuine cases, but this Varun Gandhi vs. sikh case is something that doesn't seem that probable.

"...Sikhs were traitor for not joining against the English..."

Nalwa, stop reading between the lines. Its amazing how SOME sikhs think that its their birth right to bitch about every group in the country (Rajput, Marathas, gorkhas, etc) and look at everything from a narrow prism of their own interests and how the sikhs were left alone and all. And if one turns around and gives them examples of sikhs doing the same, they turn red and start shouting sin, sin. This reminds me of how most muslims act on their internet, they'll revile every possible religion and start foaming with anger the minute one mentions their religion. If one can't take it, one shouldn't be dissing others as well. And for the record, no I don't think sikhs are traitors, but if you were to give me an example that 60 % of the mughal army were rajputs, I would throw one back at you regarding punjab police tormenting fellow sikhs.

You mention how sikhs fought wars for the country and because of that calling them traitors is a sin. You very conveniently forget that there have been thousands of muslims too who have fought for India's sake and even laid down their lives, but I don't see you extending the same privilege to them and u want all of them to leave the country. Talk about hypocrisy.

Frankly speaking, I am not sure if I heard Varun Gandhi say anything against the sikhs, but maybe I missed it.

Hey Rammer, let it slide. The Khalistanis have already had boots shoved up their arses, no wonder their internet trolls go from site to site to showcase their propaganda. One should let them vent their frustration, its not an easy task, speaking on behalf of an imaginary country. Too bad the Babbar Khalsas holed up in Pakistan can't do jack shit now.

But that is not the point of this forum. Its easy to take pot shots at each other, that only ends up diluting the essence of this forum. It wouldn't take any decently well read person even 5 mins to shatter the myth of absolute supremacy of any group, religion, community, race, etc of people. We'll all have our differences, its up to us to keep them aside for now and rise up against islamofascism, in whatever capacity we can.

so don't go bitching and moaning about how other sections of the county were readily subservient to the rulers while one section was supposedly the only beacon of hope. This is an issue for the entire country (correction : world), don't try shoving your propaganda in between.

even at the reduced amount of Rs 20 mn, its about $ 250,000, that is a LOT of money for 30 odd sub-continental families to come up with in a week
