As far as I'm concerned even the celebrities are "hangers-on." They're not there because they like racing or know anything about it; they just love the limelight.

I agree; there are enough legends in the real racing world to celebrate, we don't the Hollywood twits around to clutter up the scenery. I've enjoyed these installments.

Right, you are. But in my world $300,000 is a lot more than "casual bling-bling." Maybe he's just trying to fatten his wallet by telling a whopper to his insurance company.

This list is so bogus, it hardly bears comment. The only one he got correct was No. 1, and that is arguable. Enough said.

Racer.com : Mateschitz against Red Bull team orders - Racer.com

This all sounds well and good, but it isn't what is happening with Red Bull, Ferrari or any other team. If they want to truly ban "team orders," then limit each team to one car. However, you know, and I know, that is financially impossible. It would require a sea change in how teams are financed. And I don't think, especially in this economy, it would bring more teams into the field.

I'm not at all surprised. Having spent 40 years of my adult life working in metro dailies, I know how the "news people" in Alaska are for the most part rookies working for peanuts. So it is not surprising to see this level of incompetence by people working there.

It looked like thousands of fans were stuck in the gigantic traffic jam trying to get to the track. Despite all the back slapping amid the mutual admiration society, it is obvious the Koreans have a lot of work left to do in the area of logistics, track drainage and getting the pit entry and exit more manageable.

You certainly don't know the facts, or I would hope you would post them. The truth of the matter is Indy drew huge crowds (I was there myself) and it wasn't a question of turning a profit. It was a question of how much of the money was going into greedy Ecclestone's pockets. There was a profit there, but the little gnome's greed got in the way. Most successful sport venues aren't dependent on some little geek's demands that the local governments prop them up. Looking at any #s you wish, you'd have a hard time proving F1 is "more popular than ever." And, there is nowhere you can conclude from my comments that I "hate modern F1. I watch every event I can. Maybe it's time for you to get over your love affair with the little gnome.

You obviously don't understand the difference between "blind hatred" and a reasoned observation of the guy's behavior. Go on enjoying the Kool-Ade while you can. Unless BE is curbed, I believe F1's days are numbered.
