Liberty Maven : Penn Jillette and Glenn Beck on domestic terrorism via the MIAC document

Yes, but is it illegal? One of the questions on the list is "are you a member of a militia" like that's a bad thing. Since when is a "anti-government militia group" illegal or a domestic terrorist organization? I'm currently anti- this government, I own a gun... should I be leery of being rounded up? Ok, dumb question. Of course, I should be.

Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : The 9/12

Precisely because bringing up God brings up debate is why the Founders valued the separation of church and state. God has nothing to do with the fact our country is going to hell in a handbasket. It has to do mostly with a secret little meeting on Jeklyl Island in 1913... and with a people who fell asleep at the wheel. Your God would work for all of us if we all believed the way you do and behaved accordingly. We simply don't and all of us never will. I find your faith inspiring. I have my own spiritual routines and beliefs that bring me comfort and strength. I know atheists who I would trust with my children. BTW, there are many excellent quotes from the Founders regarding Christianity and the need to keep it separate from politics.

1. "America" is neither good nor bad. The people we've elected to run it are. If we are going to take back our country, we need to make sure our leaders know we are paying attention. If they think we are not, they will do whatever the heck they want. Like they have been lately! But now that we are out of work, we have plenty of time to pay attention to their shenanigans. I hope for all the time we spend on here and sites like this one, we spend a few minutes a day at either <a href="http://www.congress.org" target="_blank">www.congress.org or www.faxyouropinion.com telling our representatives we are watching, asking them to vote a certain way or thanking/reprimanding them for the way they just voted. It makes a difference: keeping their seats is Priority One with these guys and gals. 2. Talk of God should not be in here, particularly not of a particular religion's God, which by its very nature separates us. Separation of church and state was critical to the Founders for this very reason: religious dogma divides people. All religions and/or lack thereof must be welcome here. Let us keep our gods out of this discussion. 4. A little grandstanding here. What does marriage and family have to do with government? The Constitution and the Founders were all about rights of the individual. Each of us is the ultimate authority, married or not. This one smacks of anti-homo rhetoric, fits nicely with #2. And, excuse me, is that a quote about the sanctity of the family from an infamous philanderer? 5. What if the law is wrong? 8. Nor is it un-American to engage in civil disobedience. Like the rattle on the snake Glenn talked about: warning, warning, warning, don't tread on me.

Ah, the politics of envy. So if someone gives you a TV, it's ok for me to claim a part of it if I can't afford one. But if you purchased it, hands off. Is that it? All I want it is the freedom to live my life, work my job, be rich or poor by my choice, to enjoy the pursuit of my happiness as I measure it. Complete freedom to do that as long as I don't hurt anyone else. If people are born wealthy, God bless them! Taking from them at gunpoint diminishes me and my life. No thank you.

Excellent questions. This is the critical issue today. starsfan22, sounds like you learned your history from a public school. Read "economics in one lesson" or anything by Murray Rothbard. More money is not better. Money is not worth whatever we think it's worth. It's worth what the market deems it's worth. And the more dollars around, the less each one is worth. Like houses: the more houses around, the less each one is worth.
