Breitbart.com : House Democrats win key test vote on climate bill

I think at this point, we can only set back and see whether our public servants vote in our interests or that or in favor of teh specail interest groups that have made a non-issue so important. Given that the climate phenomenon we have been witnessing is a cycle well proven over millions of years of history and dinosaurs no doubt produced far more methane than today, mother nature has dealt with this far better than mankind ever could. Should the House pass yet another bill without fully comprehending either the contents or the consequences, then it is clear thatr impeachment proceedings for House Representatives becomes a number one priority for 'We the People'.

Hey Planet Hero, The biggest cause of increased temperature happens to be the sun. When the sunspot activity was stronger, our temperature ranges were higher. Now that the sun activity is lower you find coller temperatures not warmer. 2nd, when it comes to Co2, photosynthesis is a natural process by which this is converted to energy and oxygen. Hence, we could make as big an impact on things if we say had built the wall between us and Mexico of living plants that had thorns. As well, if we pushed more planting, you would re-energize the landscaping market which would then have to maintain higher inventories and thus get rid of even more CO2. If we have a moral obligation to be better stewards of this planet, why is it the solution have to be man made when Motehr Nature already provides all the answers we realy need. Further by having natural solutions, we do not run the risk of sending our economy into a depression. If our gas bags in Washington D.C. would talk less, that would improve the evironment and our nerves a whole lot.

Breitbart.com : Obama: Govt-run health care could trump private

Fair competition? Present government health programs force the medical profession to treatBesides covered individuals and unfairly cut the fees they pay out. The end result of that is an increase in the amounts private plans have to pay in order to make up for the losses forced into the system by the government. You can look at these increased cost burdens on each of us as taxes on top of the social security taxes we and our employers pay. Besides, the present plans I have reviewed are all about securing health insurance for the needy and nothing about controlling the costs that make the premiums so high in the first place. While it may take awhile, if D.C. passes the Health Care reform they presently have on the various tables, private health care is toast and so is critical care for anyone with a medium to low life expectancy. How will you be able to keep the same health care coerage you have when the bills in consideration are going to drastically change what a "Qualified Plan" is? We need to make these egotistical bags of hot air work for a change and get down to the true ills of the system and address those before meddling with a health care system where we can at least get the care we need regardless of age.

WSBT South Bend - Your Local News Leader : Local shelters lose food aid because of fees | WSBT South Bend - Your Local News Leader | Local News

Having actually served in a responsible capacity in a homeless shelter, I have to applaud the effort to try and get residents responsible. If all a shelter does is provide the creature comforts, they are doing nothing to assist those residents to slowly move back into society. Where I was at, the creature comforts were necessary to stabilize new residents. After that, it was our work to help them with their living skills and working skills to get them first moved into low income housing with an eye to slowly becoming self-sufficient. The restrictions being talked about here only insure that you will keep the homeless helpless.

Let me see here. With two singular items, I can probably make more of an impact on healthcare prices than Washington D.C. and be a hero to those who watch t.v. 1- Eliminate legal advertising taking it back to the way it used to be. 2- Eliminate Drug advertising entirely. I guess ideas like this are just too practical for our public servants to consider.

Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : Stand Up & Lead

When you look at the outlook of taxes on the people, let me paint a very likely scenerio for you. First, we are seeing teh tax revenues being down in the mid thrity percentiles. As corporations are permitted to carry forward losses this trend will continue for several years on that count. As unemployment grows, so will the downward spiral of revenues. Then, because corporations can base current year tax paymetns off of prior years, they will be able to extend lower payments for an additional year. So, with declining inflows of cash, Washington D.C. must either cut spenind or increase taxation; and we all know the direction the present occupants of D.C. will go. Now comes the killer projection. As D.C. continues to hammer Corporate America, other countries who need additional tax revenues will parcel out sweet deals to help entice the corporations to move their headquarters and executive staff to their back yard. Microsoft has already stated this fact. With this movement, the revenue inflow for D.C. will dramatically hit a downward tailspin with 'We teh People' being the only source for additional inflow. But, as they tax the living daylights out of us, the US will no longer be the land of milk and honey that has drawn millions of immigrants. Instead you will see an exodus of the general population for more favorable places to earn a living without having to give away so much of their hard earned dollars. While to some of you this may appear a bit far fetched, understand it is the only reality that makes any sense given the path this nation is on. The motivating factor for businesses and people is making money; and all will go where they can do so.

All of your name calling in your response does not make the sweetheart deal to the Union any better. It is still clearly a political reward to one of the two causes of the Automaker's downfall. Given the position of the Fed's with the AIG bonuses, which they were well aware of before even buying the stock (check 8Ks on SEC.Gov), a precedent had been set which the Obama administration chose not to follow. Even worse than this though is the healthcare proposal in the House of Representatives which, as presently written, will enact a value added tax of 5% on all sales including real estate. Further, the elderly are not a protected class in that legislation. Being that I am approaching my senior years, it appears certain Constitutional Rights for one my age are about to be legislated away. Don't believe me? Read the documents.

If he is wanting to lead by example, he sure is setting a poor one. In the first place he needs to practice at home what he preaches abroad if he hopes to have any audience believe a word he utters. Actions speak louder than words and his actions just do not match his utterances. While we may be stuck with him for four years, if he can prove he qualifies according to Constitutional Requirements, we do not have to sit idle. We all can write our public servants in Washington D.C. and inform them of our wishes and the fact that should they choose to ignore us, their job security will tank.

Breitbart.com : GM bailout has future tax break worth billions

Something is rotten here. On the surface it sounds quite sensible (out of line with the direction this administration has taken with other corporations though). Given the ownership and the benefits to go to the UAW, I am skeptical of honest intentions by an administration that keeps inventing ways to circumvent the law. Further, I find it highly suspect that the media has laid low on this story up to now. Only time will tell if 'We the People' have been taken to the cleaners or not.

Breitbart.com : Obama says health care a must this year _ or never

Given the Federal Government's lack of success on major entitlement programs like this, I say never. An intricate problem of this nature needs careful and thoughtful consideration not a plunger. Anytime someone says hurry up and get it done, you can almost count on it being done wrong. 'We the People' deserve better than that. He is right about now or never though. Once the American people have had a chance to see the impact of his work so far, tehy will be in no mood to allow more spending. Because of the number of California Representatives in positions of power in Congress (considering their state is almost bankrupt) and a POTUS who has bankrupted the Auto Industry, it is clear when it comes to money matters D.C. needs to slow way down, read what they are about to vote on, and insure 'We the People' the long term survival of whatever it is they want us to pay for.

Breitbart.com : Napolitano says stop mentioning her misstatement

Let us see here. Biden, Napolitano, and Pelosi all seem to have truth problems. Now, we want to add yet another, Sotomayor to the team? Of course then there is Burris whose story has kept changing as well. While politicians in general suffer from an inability to tell the truth, it does seem to me the Democrats are trying to corner the market lately. Even Gibbs is having problems smoothing out such problematic wrinkles. Then you have the global warming issue that as of late has actually turned into global cooling. If it were not for the fact that all these folks are messing with the way of life of most of us common folks, I would be willing to set back and just laugh. The change they are ushering in only seems to benefit them and the special interests that put them into office. While tehy ask all of us to tighten our belts, tehy just go out and buy bigger ones for themselves.

Breitbart.com : AP sources: Obama picks Sotomayor for high court

I am afraid the Ricci case speaks about a Justice who put race ahead of law and attempted to legislate from the bench. The Ricci case was all about an agency that needed to put more minorities on the job but could not get sufficiently qualified candidates to pass the examination necessary to measure up. The individuals who worked hard to study and pass this examination were wronged by a system to caught up in being politically correct rather than legally correct. Regardless of ideological leanings, we need a candidate who will accurately interpret OUR laws and OUR Constitution. Most of all, if some of the points about her bullying techniques are correct, I for one am tired of seeing that out of the present leadership in Washington D.C. and am vehemently against anyone being put on the bench that has those tendencies.

Sadly this man is all about his own importance at the expense of everything around him. He goes abroad and bad mouth's this nation. He comes home and bad mouths the prior administration. He holds meetings and tells business not to take junkets to Las Vegas where he himself, at our expense, is going to go for a political event. He spends more time away from the Whitehouse gettikng in front of the TV as often as he can. Rather than tighten the Fed's belt like we have been TOLD to, he just buys a bigger belt. While another entitlement, Social Security, lies in ruin, he wants to start another big entitlement and somehow thinks we will let the crooks run this one into the ground as well. Yes, Health Care in this nation needs answers; but only so long as our political servants can show us that the solution is has a chance at survival for more than 3 decades.

Breitbart.com : House rejects probe into Pelosi CIA claims

Having provided Pelosi with evidence of one of the worst cases of fraudulent financial reporting to the SEC back in 2003, I kind of know first hand where this lady stands; and it is not for 'We the People'. The case I presented to her and many other members of Congress, as well as teh commissioners at SEC, was that of a large corporation hiding upwards of 400 million dollars of negative cash. In the 10-K there was a well disguised paragraph about this practice that prompted me to call the Investor Relations folks of this firm. Because this same information is not forthcoming in the 10-Q (quarterly reports) it surprised me to find out this is a monthly occurrence; and since this has been going on since 1994, it begs the question as to why the CEO and CFO have not been charged with certifying 10-Q reports as being free of material omissions of fact. Given this first hand information about her as well as her demeanor during her press briefing where she was jittery and lost her place in her notes, I am quite sure I know who is lying. For me, I feel lying to the American Public is far worse than a lie to Congress; and how her fellow members of the House of Representatives can give her a free ride on this should only scare the balance of the American voters. Finally, since the press has known of this as well, one needs to ask why 'We the People' ahve never heard the truth from them! I still have a copy of the correspondence notifying her on more than one occaison.
