I would agree with that but we now have a situation where in effect the Constituency Executive has had a vote of no confidence passed in it by the membership. They really are obliged to resign and the Association elect a new set of officers the sooner the better since it is clear that come the GE, they will not be campaigning for him.

Eric Joyce is still the MP for Falkirk albeit misunderstanding the convention that on leaving the services one didn't have to fight any more.

Nevertheless in the recent Grangemouth Refinery Crises he made some very perceptive comments and I suspect has provided some useful ammunition against Unite.

I presume that FM James is keen to avoid a repeat of the situation where footballer Michael Owen was born in the Countess of Chester Hospital as there were no maternity units in Deeside, Buck;ley or Mold and therefore England had claims on his talents rather than Wales.

Surely the point is quality of service. I am sure that Wrexham Maelor is an excellent hospital but if it has to take extra patients diverted from Chester or even Shrewsbury does it have the resources to cope? Even then children in need of specialist care will still have to go to Alder Hey in Liverpool-
