Big thumbs up on the Phantasm suggestion as long as it's done right. It was one major head trip as a teen and the "word of mouth" buzz it created caused the studio to re-release it back into theaters after its initial run if I remember correctly. What's your opinion of the rumored Hellraiser remake/reboot?

While I was watching Drive Angry it hit me that I was watching a Ghost Rider sequel minus the flaming skull and chopper. After a while it didn't bother me because William Fichtner's character, The Accountant, kept it entertaining.

If you haven't seen "Jose Chung's Doomsday Defense" from Chris Carter's other series Millennium, you should check it out. It's a hilarious parody of a certain religious group, referred to as Selfosophists in the episode, that's very popular among the Hollywood crowd.

"Jose Chung's From Outer Space" was the one with Charles Nelson Reilly and definitely one of the best episodes of the series. My other favorite episodes are "Home", "Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose", "Pusher", "Humbug", and I never looked at a portable toilet the same way after watching "The Host".

It's a complicated situation between Ukraine and the Russians due to the Russian lease of naval facilities in Sevastopol, Ukraine in exchange for discounted natural gas from Russia. The NATO led Operation Sea Breeze gets cancelled from time to time, and the country's flirtation with entering NATO led Putin to allegedly declare that Russia would annex Eastern Ukraine and Crimea if it happened. You can't buddy up to your supplier's sometime adversary if you want heat and hot water during the winter. However, the decision to rename the movie for Ukrainians makes little sense considering that both "Gone with the Wind" and "Forrest Gump" are hugely popular over there. The only anti-Americanism I ever encountered in Ukraine came from an Aussie.

According to IMDB Paramount is distributing Captain America and the new Transformers movie. Can't have your two moneymakers competing against each other. Still, it would have been better if Cap was there July 4th instead of a franchise starring Shia LaBeouf.

Agreed. GINO deserved all the crap that was heaped upon it. Emmerich basically remade The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms and stuck the Godzilla label on it. The backlash was inevitable.
