They didn't shoot the perp because they were too busy reaching for their ticket book.
Police Officers Are Now Just Tax Collectors With A Badge.
Once a respectable career where fighting crime was the focus, now it's all about the money. You could steal a car and park it across the street from the police station. It would take them weeks to find it, if ever. Because they are not looking for it, too busy writing tickets. "small crimes" like theft, vandalism, invasion of privacy, breaking and entering are ignored by police. If it doesn't create revenue or involve guns it's not important enough for their time. I don't respect cops anymore, annoying, pragmatic bully, money vultures.

I hope the officers recover completely, but I must voice my general rant about what the police have become.

You spout more insults than substance. I think you have a "my country right or wrong" view.

First, you are twisting my statement around to suit your assertion, that's an amatures rebuttal. I'm calling BS on that. We needed to fight WW2 on many levels regardless that banks and corporations profited. The Axis where the imperialists, we were the liberators, the preservationists. Every war since has been for nothing.
Now, we pick and choose our conflicts for economic benefit, not moral as you think. We have become the imperialists. We fight one nobel cause, yet allow a genocide in another country without oil.
Secondly, people like you that blindly give the nod to war, are the enablers that make it easy for our military to be abused and for keeping this country on a broken wartime economy. You are happy to waste the nations money and lives. You have a "who cares, it's not mine attitude." Do you realize what war costs? Preparation and strike, occupation, rebuilding, rehabillation, reparations. It's easy to drink your beer and shake your fist at the evening news, but they're only showing you what they want you to think. It's all a lie, and you're falling for it.

With due regard to your starry eyed patriotism, Korea, Vietnam, and Iraq/Afghanistan are different tragedies compared to WW2. The public has once again been sold the madness of war in the name of peace, democracy and American honor, and it's all a lie. These wars have and continue to be about economic imperialism. More civilians die than combatants. Only the bankers and corporations benefit.
