They've got good distribution across London and certain other bits of the UK. Where are you?

Stack magazines : Where does your favourite magazine live?

I would have loved to come over to the secret bunker yesterday, but I decided that Shoreditch was as far east as I could go. I seriously don't know how those cycle couriers do it.

Stack magazines : Reflecting on The Modern Magazine

Ooh. Now you're asking. There was one asked by somebody from Contagious about whether he works entirely on instinct or whether he also uses some consumer insights (answer, pretty much all instinct) but I can't really remember aside from that.

Thanks everyone for the comments - it really was a great day and I'm very pleased to be able to share it a bit further. Now, who's going to organise the next one?

Stack magazines : The Ride Journal

It's available in some bike shops and some magazine shops, but a subscription is probably your best bet. I'm pretty sure they've got a list of distributors on their site...

Stack magazines : The man behind Manzine

Hmm. Not quite like FHM - more riffing off the absurdity of the GQs and Esquires of this world. And showcasing cable ties.

Stack magazines : Mags with Airmiles

Hmm - that's a bit of a mission. Magazines like Boat are pretty well distributed - you'll find them in lots of places. But I'm afraid most of the others are harder to track down. Your best bet is probably Magma in London or Manchester, or Artwords, again in London.

Stack magazines : March delivery update

Are you in the UK Andrew? If so the March delivery will be with you before you go away, but please do change your delivery address anyway and we'll be able to send the April delivery to the right place. There would be a cost involved to convert a UK subscription into an overseas subscription, but we can take care of that.

It's Nice That magazine has been wound down now. Printed Pages is a totally new title, which comes out quarterly. And there will be the annual too.

That's right - I'm not *against* expensive magazines, more that it's good to see a varied market out there with lots of different options.

Stack magazines : When readers become distributors

I've a feeling you might be right Paul, but then sale or return itself is a massive problem for publishers who have to take a risk on losing a chunk of their print run to pulping. I suppose somebody has to take the risk somewhere along the line, but maybe this is a way to spread it more evenly?
