David, I have not spoken to an aunt and uncle of mine for over a year now - we cannot even have a conversation now, because no-one will listen to each other - I think I am right and they think they are right and there is no middle ground. Why? From my perspective, the middle was always moving left, we just were not watching the line and I woke up. Hard to think things can be much more polarized, the tug of war went too far left for me to give any more middle, ever.

Atlas is already shrugging. Small business are not hiring, have been hunkered down for over a year and a half and ultimately will shudder doors when all this goes into effect. We have half an entire population uneducated on basic economic fundamentals and history, and that is demanding their "fair share." I'm seriously considering closing up shop and that will cause more people to be unemployed. VAT will do it for me for real.

Nope, was not a fan of Bush's big growth government either. Hence the Tea Party Movement, pretty sick of RINOs and Progressives all. But, one thing I don't believe is if my spouse overspent the household budget last year, I don't double or triple down on the debt this year or next. Oh, and that helping out the rich on Wall Street, both the current and former administrations have done it. Auto bailouts and unconstitutional bankruptcies were on the current's watch.

FYI - All Tea Parties I have hosted are very inclusive, many Americans of all types and colors attend, and we have left the parks cleaner than we find them. In fact, the City tells me that we do a better job of leaving the parks than the City personnel does cleaning them. No violence, never, just patriotic and patriots. I did not even have to pay for multiple reservations security deposit, the City just keeps the same deposit for all planned events. And we have more people signing up every day to attend our next event. Trudge on all and know that we have the best for our country at heart!

Michele, please ignore the trolls here, there are a lot of very intelligent posters here with a lot of good ideas. We appreciate your stopping by here as it is important that we have a way to reach out to our elected leaders. Lord knows, we do not feel that all of our faxes, emails and phone calls have made much difference with most of our elected "leaders." Keep up the good fight, and a lot of us out here will be working hard throughout the year to make sure you have backup after November. As a small business owner, I don't know how we are going to pay for all of this and stay in business in this economy. Things just are not getting better out here for us, despite the posturing of politicians. I see the left touting all these great things that this bill will do for small business, but I have yet to see a single thing over the past 2 years that has helped small biz. We are all just dangling in the wind out here, and I am afraid a lot more doors will be closing and unemployment will go up even further. (and please, a $1K credit for a new employee does not even cover the cost of the paperwork for a new hire)
