Salvo Magazine: Science, Sex, Society : Salvo Magazine: Sex on the Syllabus by Joe Jablonski - Archives

This goes back to the old debates about "studying sirens" . . . how close is too close before you crash your ship on the rocks. Pornography addiction is a real problem in America, just as is drug addiction. Do you have to experience the arousal of viewing pornography in order to understand it? If so, doesn't it also hold that one must experience drug use in order to understand it? If by "study" of a subject we require experiencing it, we have some real problems. Students of "prostitution" ought to selling themselves, right? Or at least ought to be johns . . .

Maybe ASU should teach a class on drug use and require the students to snort some blow!

Macleans.ca : The next Da Vinci Code?

Thanks for clearing that up for the writer, Russell. I think the full Masonic distress call is something like, "Oh Lord, My God, is there no help for the widow's son?" and there has been speculation that Joseph Smith was through the "Oh Lord, My God" half when shot . . . but I've never heard a single claim, ever, from any official or unofficial source, that what was uttered was "is there no help for the widow's son?" FWIW.

Breitbart.com : Obama admin. to end cash for clunkers on Monday

Good riddance. Cash for Clunkers was just the latest version of the Broken Window Fallacy at work. It did irreparable economic damage. http://www.sbabg.org/2009/08/03/cash-for-clunkers...
