Not a pagan, actually....I'm a seeker taking bits and pieces...the threads that tie all spiritual paths together...mixed with agnosticism. But, yeah, I loves me my cathedrals!

...._Let me just say, if I don't say it enough on FB, that your posts about the garden, the kids and what you all do with that gloriousness that you manage to grow in such a small place BLOWS MY MIND!!! Experience got me there and perhaps I (and Miles)was able to instill some in her so that she doesn't have to go through as much turmoil as I did?_I believe the visit was a mutual agreement...but that particular weekend wasn't what Dylan had in mind. What seemed like a good idea in theory became upsetting once it became reality? And she didn't want her at graduation representing as FAMILY. Because she is not, in Dylan's eyes. She was torn about feeling like she should see her before leaving for Italy for 2 years and I hope she doesn't regret her descision to not visit at ALL...but there is such DEEP stuff there that I think it takes her by surprise. I suggested she maybe just shorten the visit and respectfully explain her difficulty and ask if they could agree to meet for a meal to re-establish a connection with the caveat that if Dylan is uncomfortable the visit ends after the meal....and if the meal goes well, then great! Continue visit as planned and enjoy! She doesn't owe the bio-mom ANYTHING...but the mom in me just expects her to be honest yet respectful about her feelings while keeping her personal boundries. ok yadda yadda

Penni! What ups! I tried to respond to this while on my trip but my phone wouldn't let me?__Thanks for the kind words...but no worries there, lol! Yeah, the idea of toxic people in my family's life concerns me....what can ya do but hope they are strong enough to establish boundaries and brave enough to cut the cord if things get poisonous. I was the eternal "taker in of strays"...until I developed a backbone and some hardcore insight. Dylan is much stronger than I was at her age, thank God, but I have arrived!
