Now that I think about it, I feel like he would also be a Toastie :)
On the note of collections getting mixed up, that would never have been a concern xD My roommate was an international student, so she was always packing in a panic like 12 hours before me at the end of a quarter and leaving a sea of discarded papers and stuff behind, which I took care of because I loved her. I was always finding stuff she had left behind like AN EXPENSIVE HEIRLOOM CRYSTAL NECKLACE.
tldr; It would have been a-okay if she walked away with some of my books, she could have any of my books she wanted, she is the (platonic) love of my life

*Deerskin is at least in part about the main character recovering from a sexual assault, so.... heavy trigger warnings in that respect. That being said, it is also a beautifully quietly POWERFUL book, and I love love love it.

Also true story but I knew my college roommate and I were going to be BFFs without ever meeting her solely because she had a single Terry Pratchett book up on her bookshelf when I arrived at our dorm (nearly the first thing I did was throw open my suitcase and put my TEN DISCWORLD BOOKS up on my shelf)

(I say this as someone who is procrastinating on recommitting to writing my own stuff, in part because I haven't yet reconciled myself to the fact that the first draft is ALWAYS crappy)

Psssst I actually don't think this is true. People shouting meaningless words or threats in order to silence other voices is hardly democratic. Go forth and enjoy well-moderated comment sections with no guilt or shame!
